    Good stuff, Kevin.

We really do have to discipline ourselves to not drown in the flood of things demanding our attention.
For me, the Daily Office helps by demanding a break during the day to focus on God…when I don’t do so, I feel the water coming up around my nose…

    Good article Kevin,
My advise to all – give up the news (especially cable news) and live a happy life.
There is not a single thing you can do to change any past event reported on the news. What good does it do to wake up each morning, flip on the local news and hear about the 5 murders, 3 rapes and 2 high speed car chases?

    That’s good advice.

    MLD & Josh,

Should we keep our cable tv, however, to be able to watch Magnum PI re-runs? 🙂

  5. Josh the Baptist says:

    Be careful with that 🙂

  6. Kevin H says:

    Don’t worry Josh, I don’t have any posters. 🙂

I get addicted to watching the news to find out what’s going on. I frequent the Drudge Report often. No wonder I’m so anxious.

Re: Magnum – Just bounce your eyes guys. Focus on Higgins.

    That mustache is mesmerizing though,

When we look at today’s news be it cable or other means, we will be all stressed out at how “political correctness” have taken over “common sense in our country.

As a born again Christian saint, we should be focusing on God Almighty who is still on the throne and is in control of what is happening in this country and world. When we pray, especially pray in the Spirit, read our bible daily, there is that peace that surpasses all understand. So we have two choices, watch the news or peace in Christ Jesus.

    Man crush!
Go to the other thread. 🙂

For some realtime news, you can listen to a police scanner and pray for what is happening in your community. Years ago I was listening to police calls and the call went out that the church burglar alarm went off. Got to pray for that! 🙂

Sometimes I wonder how atheists can handle all the negative news. The constant drumbeat of judgment and wrath with no prospect for forgiveness and deliverance. Living within a world of ordered by natural selection and survival of the fittest. It would be utterly depressing.
