@ Uncle Buck,
People who mind their own P(s) and Q(s), and who don’t do the kinds of things to others that they wouldn’t want done to themselves, need no king.
Respectfully, I am confused as well. I think that the totality of the scriptures and thousands of years of human history declare that we all do in fact need a king. I am simply choosing to live daily, moment by moment in the hope and expectation that God has provided a King from the line of David. (Psalm 2, Revelation 17:14 etc.) Grace and peace to you my friend. UB
Grace and peace to you as well Uncle Buck.
I hold to the tenets of The Apostle’s Creed as non-negotiable parameters up-front and on the table.
The rest of the stuff?
I keep my own counsel on what’s what.
Not at all Everstudy (@ 3:54 pm), The Lord’s Prayer was written long before there was any such thing as ‘The Rights of Man’ (Thomas Paine) and the notion of representative government.
In no way did I intend to disparage The Lord’s Prayer.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven!

MP… I’m confused by your post… are you arguing against the Lord’s prayer?

Michael–too ks for putting up the “Collects of the Day.” I appreciate the thought/heart boost each provides.
Thanks, fil.
I’ll be expanding it a bit with prayers from other sources.
I’m trying to stay sane…thought maybe others might be struggling as well.
