While it is a given that this evangelical might tweek a couple Lutheran observations of the author, what Jean is doing is presenting some truths that we give assent to almost on the level of lip service. My impression, so it could be wrong, I know…. but I’m convicted as I read the verses above
These are facts about our God that we need to get into the very marrow of our bones – to carry that analogy a step further, the truth of the omniscience and omnipotence of a holy and just God should pump thru our veins nourishing our souls just as our humanity relies on the physical blood for nourishment and strength.I
Do we have stronger feelings and sense of urgency about our President than we do about this topic posted here? dunno, but I’m convicted….?

    Thanks Em.

“These are facts about our God that we need to get into the very marrow of our bones”

What I’m finding true for myself, as I work through the psalms, is that I’m getting a view into the worldview of God’s people, in a unique way from other equally inspired books of the Bible. And I want that worldview!

I like the way you put it: “get into the very marrow….” I agree.

  3. Hi just taught this Psalm this past Wednesday in church.

Good words from your study. What also is interesting is today’s church culture is oblivious to impending judgement. This judgement will fall upon the whole world. All we as Christians that have allowed the world system to capture our hearts will be unprepared for the Day of wrath. We all must repent and humble ourselves so the Holy Sprit can influence us to get the Gospel out to the lost before it is to late! Thank you for your faithfulness to proclaim the whole counsel of God!

Thank you for reading Clarke. Stay tuned; the remaining sections of Psalm 2 provide strong warnings, together with a strong promise at the end: “Blessed are all who take refuge in him.”
