Moving when you’re struggling with medical issues is a hellish thing, Michael. I will pray for you, among other things that you have the help you need for such a labor intensive endeavor.

  2. Michael says:

    Robert F,

    Thank you much.

Moving is the most difficult thing for me to deal with emotionally…and now, at my age, physically.

This too shall pass…but hopefully, the Lord dulls all the edges.

  3. Captain Kevin says:

Man, that’s rough Michael. I’m sorry, Michael. Praying for you.

  4. bob1 says:

Michael you have my sympathies and prayers. As Kevin said, this is rough! I pray the Lord will show His mercy to you.

The Trump administration is polygraphing members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff regarding leaks to the media — why don’t they just use a Ouija board, it’s just as scientific?

  6. Linn says:

Michael-I’m for a successful, less stressful move and for feeling better!

  7. Michael says:

Many thanks to bob1, CK, and Linn…prayers much appreciated…

  8. Michael says:

    Alan,

Thank you for that and I commend that link to everyone’s reading.

I regret that I was unable to note Berry’s passing when it happened…he was a giant of unpopular truths and in a unique way, a herald of the age to come.

He leaves a void that will be filled with another liar and another grifter, because it seems that is what we have left…

  9. Michael says:

    Robert F,

I don’t think we have any idea how depleted our armed forces are intellectually and in terms of supply.
We are being protected by dunces…

  10. JD says:

Michael, I am praying for your health and help with the ordeal of moving.

  11. Michael says:

    Thanks, JD.

  12. Lynne says:

    Michael, I will pray.

I know without one shred of doubt that mom is also ‘up there’ praying for you. She was, as you know, a woman who spent her life struggling in prayer before God’s holy throne.

Getting old and sick is not a fun journey.

  13. Owen says:

I have had to move more times than I care to count , and it was always an ordeal.
The last two times were in the few years after my heart surgery . I am still trying to adjust to all the things I just can’t do anymore .
Michael ,I hope and am praying you are well taken care of , and I know He will see you through this.

  14. Michael says:

    Lynne,

    Thank you, my friend.
She was an intercessor here…and I believe she still is.
    No, aging is not fun…

  15. Michael says:

    Owen,

Thank you, my friend…I’m trying to focus on what I can do, though the list shrinks on a regular basis.

    This too shall pass…

Thanks for the link to the Christianity Today article on Wendell Berry. From the article by Russell Moore:

“It was because, among other things, Berry recognized that people cannot come to love the mystery of life the way they dissect a frog. Knowledge is rooted in imagination, he argued, and imagination is rooted in affection. We can only come to really know a person, a community, a plot of land, when we have come to love that person or place beyond utility or efficiency.”

A wisdom that we have lost the ability to see.

Abraham Heschels The Prophets is on sale for a mere $1.99 USD this week for anyone who doesn’t have that book and wants to get it for their Kindle.

Jacques Ellul buffs will probably be the only ones who will dig the posthumous publication of a never-completed book that was to be called Theology and Technique: Toward an Ethic of Non-Power.

I know that books I’ve recommended have single-handedly destroyed Michael’s book budget so I’m trying to lean toward books that, if he doesn’t have them already, are way cheaper than the Justin Michael Reed book I commended a while back.

Hope everyone had a good Labor Day weekend. I had fun wrapping up Gordon Wenham’s commentary of Numbers of the weekend. And because I can’t be reading heavy-duty stuff ALL the time, the latest volume of the manga Spy x Family dropped at the start of the month and is my comfort food reading of late.
