I like the tribute to RC Sproul by a Lutheran. Why other Lutherans have such a hard time with reformed folk is quite puzzling to me…

I admire Josh Harris for his reflections on his controversial dating book, as well as how he is inviting criticism for said book, and for his apologies for his advice that caused many people issues. Lots can be learned from his example. Don’t we wish other book authors that wrote some bad things could do the same?

    Steve,

    Ditto on the whole comment…

    “Choose kind… Go see “Wonder”…

Planning to see this. This sounds like one of those works of art that has Jesus written all over it without mentioning His Name. It’s nice to see that Hollywood still gets it right sometimes.

Steve, Lutherans do not have trouble with reformed folks. 25 years of the White Horse Inn should show that.
We do have issues with their theology.

    All,

I peruse The Christian Post and Charisma News more for the comedy and irony that takes the place of hard-hitting news stories, but I found this one at The Christian Post rather intersting…

(sorry I’m too tired this morning to use HTML tags).

    Destiny Cards?

Well, if this is what megachurch evangelicalism has come to, I will be happy to change allegiances and join a church/denomination that has a leader/system of confessions.

The CT interview about the Independent Network Christianity interested me but when I read it the dismissive undertone reminded me why it is so hard for people to take seriously the things they write seriously about. That gap skews analysis. Nothing is more important to critique than actual understanding. Calvinists always ride that horse, my turn.

  8. Babylon's Dread says:

Bethel is not using tarot cards but a ministry friendly to Bethel has apparently developed a means of ministering with something that looks enough like those cards to cause a stink.

    Much ado about nothing Dread

The CT post on INC to which I already referred is more interesting at a second look. I can see that he has researched fairly well. I can see that he has seized the stuff that has clickbait appeal. Just this comment. It is free market religion at its finest. These people create income streams by offering things people will pay for. It is hardly sinister but it is a creative approach to a changing culture just like seeker Christianity was and is. All of this is niche marketing applied to the Gospel.

Go see “Wonder”. Beautiful movie. Bring Kleenex.

  11. Dan from Georgia says:

I’ve heard good stuff about “Wonder”.

Wonder is an excellent movie. Highly recommended.
