Re first link-“American individuals, bequests, foundations and corporations to U.S. charities surged to an estimated $410.02 billion in 2017, according to Giving USA 2018: The Annual Report on Philanthropy for the Year 2017”.
While my thoughts on the Churches abdication of her role in caring for the poor have been stated here before, let’s not imagine that generosity is absent among those who don’t believe.

Brits’ Top Response :
Many Brits remain ambivalent on matters of faith. … Even more, 36 percent, said they didn’t know whether to agree or disagree with the statement, “God counts a person as righteous not because of one’s own works but only because of one’s faith in Jesus Christ.”
David Gushee, lifting the heavy yoke, modeling penance (not repentance) for his perceived “whiteness” from Can Religion Unite Americans? :
To repent, he immersed himself in black writers, particularly novelists, growing to understand through their writings how white supremacy has harmed the lives of people of color for generations up to the present day. His address at the annual meeting of the academy was part of his public repentance, he said. But he intended to do more than confess his sins….
This was not my sin, not many or most of my generation. We were taught better by our parents. So why is Gushee making race an issue?
It’s not just the Brits who’ve forgotten.
Galatians 3:26
For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
