My wife is hot.
I had to convince my wife the other day that it was much more likely that the dude at the grocery store was checking her out than judging her for some minute flaw, so from time to time I will feel free to objectify her in public… I think it’s good for her. Sorry, for any awkwardness. 😉
The link of “expect a lot of this…how would you answer” was great. Other good links here as well especially regarding the Orlando incident and our reactions to it.
Oh, and thanks for including articles and links to articles re: LGTB people that may make many people here uncomfortable, including myself.
A little encouragement, and a little time has had me writing a little more lately, thought I might drop a link of my own.

Yes, the whole “smoking hot wife” thing is just weird. Our wives may be indeed hot, but announcing such to the world is strange and braggadocios.
I am a Non-LGBT-affirming Christian.
And I am not uncomfortable about it.
Russell Moore’s article about national weeping is worth the read.
I will add another link here that Michael should like. This one, like one above, also comes from “Relevant” magazine. A quote: “They’ve been tricked by a culture of outrage into believing that by separating themselves through their anger, they are more righteous than the people who’ve yet to be consumed by all the rage.” Righteousness is more than online rants:

The anti-christ(ian) pastor tag line is spot on. Not sure how anyone can believe they are in Christ and spew this kind of garbage and hate (yes, that is what it is plain and simple).
What the Orlando Chick-fil-A did was awesome and totally right. Give a cup of water to those in thirst, regardless of their life or lifestyle.
Russel Moore’s call to collective weeping is needed, but in today’s culture where more people are talking and connecting (and fighting) online than in person, not sure if it is realistic (unfortunately).
The link on Ezekiel 37 is just knock down, drag out funny by the way. Thanks so much for sharing.
I am much like Xenia – I am a Non-LGBT-affirming Christian.- and you know what, I have never had one ask me to affirm them.
Our difference is probably that Xenia is trying to uphold the faith and I personally don’t give a rat’s behind about them just out of sheer apathy for any acronym group.
In America, anyone can do anything – just don’t ask me to approve.
But I wonder what the conversation would be is some LGBT person walked in and shot up a cowboy bar?
@ #11
Here’s an article from RELEVANT magazine that speaks to the sad issue that Christianity is being fought for in the trenches of social media, rather than lived out as salt and light in the real world:

Thanks Pineapple head. Did read the article. Ms. Jesperson (10) also referenced the article. I know I spouted off an opinion in post number 11, but normally I don’t like to spout off opinions online because it just leads to silly, pointless, and non-ending debates. Some may say I am being wishy washy, but I have my strong opinions and views, and I don’t feel I need to always spout them out loud, let alone be a jerk about them. This is also why I don’t have a twitter or Facebook account. Besides, I would have probably told off a number of people anyways on Facebook.
“Terrorism is not hate” is thought provoking even though IMV a wee bit askew… of course, terrorist acts are acts of hate, but we may be a little off in understanding what these actors have come to hate… or why… good information
Ha! I didn’t even see the article posted ahead of mine. It came through my email today.
wonderful links again – good opportunities to think a bit … … thank you … again
“I am a Non-LGBT-affirming Christian.”
I am an “every human being was created in the image of God” affirming Christian.
The massacre was a heinous crime by a wicked murderer against a group of 100% innocent unarmed victims who my Savior died for. The wounded and all affected families are in my prayers unconditionally.
but not because they are LGBT – yes because they are humans.
And that is why I asked if the conversation today – all over the news, here, in the streets of London etc would be the same if a gay person killed 50 in a cowboy bar.
The crime would be the exact same and other than shock most would probably blame the cowboys.
I will say, I do not affirm adulterers either.
but not because they are LGBT – yes because they are humans<<<
Correct.
God is not a monster, part of our nature is. Some of the realities of the Universe and existence are monsters. God is “the Good” and I love the Jesus of the Gospels, though I don’t understand all the barbarism in the Old Testament and Revelation, but I do understand Justice and the need to smite the Enemy at times.
Every one of us is a sinner currently living “in sin”…no way around it.
You have sins you are guilty of that you don’t think are sins, just like the gay folks.
There’s either grace or there isn’t.
Pastor Al is 100% and one day would make a good Christian 😉
This is why Luther had said as the very first item on his 95 theses;
“When our Lord and Master Jesus Christ said, “Repent” (Mt 4:17), he willed the entire life of believers to be one of repentance.”
I think he also said something to the effect (and I will butcher it) that to confess your sin is to do no more than be a Christian.”
The question is not about our continuous sin, but about our continuous confession and receiving the absolution.
“Pastor Al is 100% and one day would make a good Christian” <—-Sin of presumption and playing God 🙂
I’ve always been a Christian in the sense of knowing/loving Jesus. I just don’t like the rest of you or your leaders/gurus or institutions so much 🙂
good list lots to think about.
Al – I don’t like me either – but Jesus loves me.:-)
“I’ve always been a Christian in the sense of knowing/loving Jesus. I just don’t like the rest of you or your leaders/gurus or institutions so much”
What? MLD’s a teddy bear.
“More of what’s coming…” for starters we have to separate the genetic gender confusion from the psychological gender distortions… i’ve read enough discussion of the finer points and innuendoes on threads here to last my lifetime – what’s left of it
after those two categories are clear in our Christian minds then it is for me, “don’t ask, don’t tell.” I won’t ask; why should i? If you ask, well then i will tell – tell you what i know, at any rate – what i know that is written in God’s book about homosexuality and that you, whoever you are, are valuable; a human created by God and in need of redemption and reconciliation to Him before you die (a man dies once and after this, the judgement) … and then we probably won’t be friends anymore
MLD, LOL.
I like me…but not the female version of me apparently LOL.
Not everyone who was killed in Orlando was gay.
True! Bullets never ask your sexual orientation.
Bullets are agnostic.
The shooter operating the gun is generally not.
The pen is more dangerous than the bullet….yet we seem to place a lot of importance on the inanimate object…instead of the Ideology.
Your argument is invalid 😉
