Attack Of the MudMen

Over the years I have set up a number of Google Alerts.

These work off keywords and anytime they spot the keyword on the internet, they send you a notification.

That’s how I found the latest press releases from Potters Field and MudMan burgers.

The press releases keep coming…and getting more effusive about Mike Rozell and his works.

Naturally, Rozell isn’t going to want people reading the reports we’ve made over the years and the way they responded to my notice of their PR posts was classic…nothing much has changed over 25 years of writing about spiritual abuse in the church.

The first thing that happens is that the leadership rallies the troops and they descend upon the site with the messages that leadership wants delivered.

The messages never change.

First, they accuse me of being dishonest or compromised in some way. If they can put questions about my character or motives into people’s minds, they believe that will carry the day over any evidence presented.

Second, they question whether the evidence is really evidence. They will often point to the fact that criminal charges have not been brought, ignoring the fact that spiritual abuse and the abuse of authority aren’t against the law anywhere.

The reasoning is that, without a legal conviction, nothing really happened.

The next step is to throw shade at the victims…they aren’t really victims but have some ulterior motive to cause harm to the holy leaders.

This is by far the the worst thing that happens…it re-victimizes people all over again.

The final step is the threat, almost always the threat of lawsuits and legal action.

Over the years we’ve had more personal threats made, but ruining us through lawsuits is the standard.

Large ministries have large dollars and attorneys on retainers…and they know I don’t, nor do most of the people affected.

I’ve lived under these threats for 25 years…and the reason God has used me to fight these battles is because He knows I have nothing to lose.

Running this site has not brought me wealth…but it’s cost me more than anyone will ever know.

We stand by what we wrote and why we wrote it.

Oddly enough, what you will never hear from these organizations is an invitation to resolve things in a Christian manner…listening to the victims and seeking godly resolutions.

Behaving like Jesus followers is always a bridge too far…

The potters field was often a burial place for the poor…

    Michael,

FWIW, ancient Israel treated their prophets like excrement when the brain-addled Kool-Aid drinkers back then didn’t like what they said. So you are in good company.

And I am proud to know you.

  2. Michael says:

    Ra’s al Ghul,

    Thank you, sir.

I don’t count myself among the prophets, but I think we’re all called to speak prophetically to the church.

You are correct that such talk rarely works out well for the speaker…

Ha, now I see that Tom Donovan was the PR hit man not some virtuous missionary when he tried to subvert you last week. He is just another hired henchman and a partaker of what the pastoral epistles in their KJV pungent English call “filthy lucre”.

  4. Michael says:

    vic,

I’ve been out of the game too long…I don’t know who most of these people are.

I only know the testimonies I received…and I believe them.

  5. Muff Potter says:

Michael, count me in with Ra’s al Ghul.

  6. Michael says:

    Muff,

Thank you…you’ve seen a lot of this over the years.
    Glad you’re here.

  7. Well Michael,

Some of us old timers are still around here lurking…you keep doing your thing, and we’ll be here when you need us.

  8. Michael says:

    Thanks, Phil!

    Good to see you here!

  9. Tom Donovan says:

    Michael,

Why did you delete my posts?????????

you guys keep saying that I am a hitman, and a hired Gun.

I am just a missionary and Pastor who has saw what’s going on and did some research and then jumped in to save a reputation of a man who you all are bearing false witness against.

I only asked you to pray.

nothing more, please just pray and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth to you.

  10. Michael says:

None of your posts have been deleted.

I have prayed and listened to dozens of testimonies of young people that I’ve grown to care a great deal for.

    I’m done with this conversation.

I hope the numerous children in the care of these scary people are not being treated like the interns were. If you want a reputable child sponsoring organization , try Compassion International. I sponsor a number of kids with them. They “graduate” with educational and vocational skills, and many go on to serve in their churches. You get quarterly letters, and updates on health and educational growth.
