I’m not sure why, but I couldn’t hear the clip on your site, even with volume at 100%. Had to go to WT’s site to listen.
I’m glad it’s getting local TV press, but they do seem clueless to the greater controversy. Labeling it a “cult” shouldn’t be as important to CBS news as exposing the millions of unaccounted-for donation dollars.
as i’ve followed this story here on the PhxP i seem to see a lack of understanding of just what an audit is… a bona fide audit by a qualified accountant isn’t just a matter of taking a basket of random items and picking thru them to see if you find something noteworthy… rather, every single dollar in – every credit – must reconcile with every single dollar going out – every debit (to the penny, hopefully) and where those debits were incurred must be recorded … you can’t have millions of dollars of petty cash, i don’t think 🙂
well, it seems that the audit has concluded that the financial statements are suspect… and its time to audit the books themselves … and if those books aren’t open? for heaven’s sake (literally) put God’s money elsewhere … or so it seems … to me

Right on! Can’t wait to see it.
EricL,
I know a little bit about the back story here…and trust me, it’s as important as the money.
It will be interesting to see what they say…

i should have qualified my #4 that what i see as a lack of understanding was by SOME commenters, certainly not by ALL who have posted
Em, I’m afraid your expectations on an audit are far too high. See just above the last section in this review: http://tedsherwood.com/gospel-for-asia-charity-review/.

I hope this story gets some more traction. You and Warren have done such a good job so far.
Will you post a link of when the entire story runs ?
Absolutely
I thought the piece was a fat zero
A bit disappointed as well. Like Michael said, there’s much more to the story than what we heard.
