Gospel for Asia and the Mockery of God
The U.K. Charity commission is now investigating Gospel For Asia.
Sadly, it will take government intervention to finally shut this group down in the United States.
That is, if they choose to take action.
There is another way…a way that would stop GFA in it’s tracks.
If the pastors who had knowledge of the abuses both financial and personal, decided to speak…the funding would dry up and Gospel For Asia would blow away.
There is no question that there are men out there with such knowledge.
They refuse to speak.
Because they refuse to speak, when and if these secular groups take action, evangelicalism will have yet another black eye.
We will not clean up our own messes.
We mock God…God who waits for us to bring truth to the lies and protect His people from avarice and fraud.
While we allow this to happen, Gospel For Asia continues to advertise heavily on social media…undoubtedly new people are being sucked in many times a day.
They buy a platform with donor money and replace those who have heard the truth with those who haven’t.
Someone should warn those folks…they probably work hard for that money.
Yes, somebody should warn them…
“Because they refuse to speak, when and if these secular groups take action, evangelicalism will have yet another black eye.”
furthermore…
sadly, the churches who have chosen not to speak out against a corrupted work like this will give great credence to the inevitable cry from GFA that the anti-christ is working thru the godless governments to persecute the spreading of the gospel
Em,
That was well said and an angle I didn’t see.
You’re right…
Not many of you should be teachers my brothers, knowing that we will receive greater judgment.
James Three: One
These men who are conducting churches in the name of Christ will actually not get away with their silence if they allow their church to give into this gospel for Asia Ponzi scheme.
They can take the easy way out, of repentance before the Lord now, or…
โBecause they refuse to speak”…
$ame $hit different day!
Gospel For Asia
“reaching the most unreached”
Stupid, gullible money givers to help support KP’s multi-million $$$ god-business, con game.
This is how “Goodwill” does it:
Collateral damage in an organization like this is not nothing…
Good people have work they are doing
Faithful people have their own families to care for
Effective work is carrying on in the midst of the corruption
Gospel for Asia needs reformation not destruction.
This should not be a zero sum game.
BD,
I think reformation should be the goal. However, if reformation cannot be achieved, then GFA should come to an end. To this point, GFA has shown little inclination for substantive reformation.
For the sake of those truly ministering within GFA, I hope and pray for reformation.
Reformation isn’t realistic. KP seems determined to ride this horse til it’s dead.
A new organization with the same goals, able to employ the same people, under NEW LEADERSHIP – realistic?
Or not.
In any case, the beat goes on as those who are responsible for promoting this to the sheep remain silent.
Cowards.
Are there a lot of churches continuing to promote GFA? Seems unbelievable.
“Gospel for Asia needs reformation not destruction.” then again… maybe it does need destruction and then re-construction? it isn’t a ‘person,’ is it? more like a building that has a rotten foundation?
dunno … just thinking … again
Nonnie,
Michael certainly has more knowledge and info than me in this regards so he can correct me if I’m wrong. But I think the thought is not so much churches that are still actively promoting GFA (although I wouldn’t be surprised if there are still some out there like that). Rather churches and pastors and other Christian leaders who know about what is going on with GFA, many of whom may have previously promoted GFA, and yet choose to remain silent or don’t say nearly as much as they could.
There are many sheep still giving to GFA who probably have little or no idea about what’s going on with GFA. If those leaders who know what is going on with GFA, most especially those who previously promoted GFA, would speak up to their congregations and followers, there would be a huge impact.
I hate it when we are called sheep – as if we can’t think on our own.
How about, there are many church members or congregants who are still contributing.
I don’t mind being called a sheep – John 10:27-28 – has some great benefits:-)
Kevin H,
You nailed it.
I doubt that many churches will actively promote GFA, but there are some.
The bigger issue is that the lay people are cutting checks and new people are still being solicited without knowing the facts.
Michael,
For MLD’s edification, those that you refer to as the “lay people”, they would be the sheep, right? ๐
this whole question of greed and corruption within the organizations that fly the banner of Christ has me pondering – you all keep me doing that – perhaps, as the big shots line their pockets, under the radar the Lord’s servants work on and God’s will gets done? souls escape hell and His kindnesses are still shown one on one to the human race?
not that it is wrong to be upset and to try and expose the corruption… we need to declare them guys are not us guys… thinking… thinking… thinking… again
“as if we canโt think on our own” … boy, are you going to be surprised, MLD … just the collective pronouns “we” and “our” make the point ๐
course, the more we develop the mind of Christ, the closer we come to sound thinking…
em – it doesn’t take the mind of Christ to not get fleeced.
I will bet people spend more time figuring out which TV to buy than they do looking into donations. But it can be figured out easily.
But then perhaps you are right, those who enjoy being referred to as sheep may just be happy in a non thinking environment.
no, you’re right, MLD – thinking for oneself should be practiced, but we tend to group think as a whole… whether Christians or non..
erased a big old pontification on edification ๐
does anyone “enjoy” being referred to as a sheep? … dunno … maybe
MLD @ #12
http://shekinahfellowship.blogspot.com/2010/09/why-arent-christians-smarter.html
LOL Surfer – my point is just the opposite – I think Christians are plenty smart, they do not need group think, they do not need to be called “sheep” and they do not need to be treated as sheep. The unsaid descriptor is “dumb sheep” – and this is, if not the evangelical view of sheep it definitely is in the non denominational world.
They are dumb sheep and we will give them just enough so they don’t run into each other but we will keep them dependent on their leaders. This is one reason this type of church has activities every day / night – they don’t trust that the common man can go about his vocation on his own – so let’s round up the sheep.
The “sheep” can figure this Gospel for Asia stuff out on their own.
#21 – God said we are sheep, MLD ๐
too bad, tho, that we have bad shepherds when what we need are good teachers … those who fleece God’s sheep do not really believe in God at all IMHO otherwise, it ought to scare them silly that their actions are going to be dealt with in Eternity by a holy – a very righteous and just God …
this life is, i am beginning to see more clearly, about Eternity – the here and now as we know it is transitional?
em, I may be one of Jesus’ sheep but I am not my pastor’s sheep nor the church’s sheep.
Jesus told the apostles “Feed MY sheep”
He didn’t say go feed your sheep.
“those who fleece Godโs sheep do not really believe in God ”
Those who allow themselves to be fleeced probably don’t believe in God – they are idol worshipers.
MLD,
You’re off your rocker again.
This group has been consistently endorsed and given the pulpit all over Calvary Chapel for close to twenty years.
Big names in other evangelical circles have also endorsed them.
They are still advertising heavily…they advertise in my Facebook timeline despite the fact that they have blocked me from commenting.
People have been taught to trust this brand…and not everyone reads Throckmorton and myself.
Blaming them for wanting to give to what they believe to be a reputable charity is not being an idol worshipper.
Michael – well, since you seem to be still on your rocker, let me set you straight. My conversation had changed from Gospel to Asia to the term “sheep”. I am saying that those who thrive in environments where they are called sheep are a twisted bunch.
I would contend that they have been trained to be “twisted”.
You are an exception to the norm.
You have studied and thought deeply about what you believe and why…and made decisions about where you worship based on that.
I commend you for that…but it’s not the norm.
Michael – you need to get out more and be a part of a church body that has regular open forums and congregation meetings. You will find that there are church environments that do not allow sheep – just a congregation of wild goats. In those places it is very difficult to move people in a direction they do not want to go. You can’t convince them first they are sheep and should act like sheep.
Remember, in some places the goats hire the shepherd. ๐
I have a bumper sticker that says, “Calvary Chapel, where the sheep like to eat”
It should say, “Calvary Chapel, where the sheep get fleeced”

Many Calvary Chapels still endorses GFA and KP!!!

don’t forget, i repeat myself, it is God, Himself, Who has labeled us sheep… God is a realist
should we study? rightly divide the word of Truth? should we be wise and serpents and harmless as doves? … perhaps, if we all did what we should, the cross would have been unnecessary, eh? and. of course. that doesn’t preclude MLD’s urging us to NOT act like sheep; however, the fact remains: God calls us ‘sheep.’
the fact that God has a flock of sheep that He loves – repeat, He loves the sheep – does not give the shepherds the go-ahead to fleece, does it?
goats?
