Thank you, Karl, for your statement of clarification. While such guilt by association charges should never have been in the first place, both on this site and apparently other places, too, your statement should leave no doubts.

But, uh oh, you’re a bartender….. that’s not kosher with some segments of CC. We better watch out for the next round of accusations that Brodersen is leading Calvary Chapel into the depths of being cool with drunkenness and alcohol abuse. (Place sarcastic smiley here.)

  2. Bert says:

Very sad to watch the CC movement, as well as many voices on this blog, slipping further and further into apostasy.

  3. Michael says:

    Bert,

What part of “this has nothing to do with CC” did you miss?

  4. Jeff Sheckstein says:

Gees Burt. Talk about painting with a broad brush. That comment could paint one side of the Empire State Building with one stroke. Wish you’d clarify or in the alternative state what facts you base your opinion. That is, if you really want to engage or maybe you just want to be a “Phelpsian.”

  5. Kevin H says:

Some people apparently lack even the most basic elements of logic and common sense and comprehension. Either that or they have deluded themselves so greatly that these basic capabilities they may have once had have become overridden by fear and contempt.

  6. Michael says:

    KevinH,

    It’s the latter…

  7. Jean says:

    The Reformers called in calumny.

I appreciate Karl MacCorcrain’s statement and specifically the fact that he was ordained and hired by Papa Chuck. But what I am a bit perplexed at is what this statement responding to. All I could find posted previously here was this:

“After he posted pictures of the nuptials, the conservative wing of what was once Calvary Chapel exploded in outrage.”

Who exactly said what about who? I really would like the people who are saying untrue things to be held responsible for their words although it will never happen. Was it the leaders of the conservative wing like Joe Focht or Don McClure that exploded in outrage against Brian or was it a rather unknown person claiming to represent the wing that the conservative wing endorses?

Serving up the new wine of apostasy — yeah — such are these end times.

  10. Michael says:

    Steve,

There are groups of people who will do anything to take Brodersen out…more than one.

This kind of thing is very useful as most will only hear the slander and never the response…or they will ignore the response as Bert did.

  11. Ms. ODM says:

However, John Henry has no control over what his prodigal son does — I doubt he would approve.

  12. Kevin H says:

    Steve,

If you go to the most recent Open Blogging page, you will see a fellow named Lew Phelps with an apparent long history with Calvary Chapel and Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa who came here and made ridiculous (and largely incoherent) guilt by association charges against Brian Brodersen regarding this situation with MacCorcrain. Apparently there were similar charges made by others in regards to this situation on Facebook and possibly other places, too.

This seems to be par for the course, to it’s worst extent, as to how people unrighteously and illogically attack Brodersen. But at least in this case, we get a statement from MacCorcrain to clear up any such nonsense of the charges.

  13. John 20:29 says:

Until i experienced it for some long years living in a neighborhood of folk, infected or genetically programmed i dont know which, with a mind that feeds on, needs to have enemies, i would not have believed that there were people who could not be reasoned with, people who thrived on malice. Pray for your enemies indeed. Only God can change such folk and hell is not temporary.
There are few things in this life more noble than turning from evil and saying, “forgive me; i was wrong/mjstaken.”

or so it seems to me….. ?

    Ms ODM

I wonder if one of those aromas of that “new wine of apostasy” is that every side, including ours, uses false weights and measures.

I don’t agree with Karl’s pov on SS marriage, but neither can I agree with Bert. Us fundies do like to use them economy size paint brushes.

  15. Kevin H says:

    Hey Misspelled Condiment Personage,

Way to stick with the issue at hand and bringing us great enlightenment with that remarkable character assassination.

  16. Michael says:

    That comment has been removed.

  17. Michael says:

    Mayo,

Character assassination adds nothing to the conversation.

  18. Kevin H says:

With the now second removed comment from Mayonaise with the missing second n, it would appear he/she perfectly fits within the descriptions I gave at #5.

  19. Michael says:

    Mayo,

I deal in facts that are germane to a situation.
The details you want to spread are not germane to this matter.
