The (brief) Back Story to the Prayer Journal: Thanks folks, I’ll keep it brief. For about 10 years now I’ve survived on social security disability. And probably like you, finding it tough to live with all the inflation and price increases of late. Tried trading stocks to make ends meet, and all that did was stress me out. Well, the Lord, in His great mercy toward me, in May gave me an upper respiratory infection that put me on the couch for two weeks. It was a forced time of rest, greatly needed. Watching YouTube videos, I discovered Amazon offered a self publishing service that required no upfront costs. So I tried it out. I had great fun learning new software and dredging up my former skills as a writer, marketer, and publisher.
The Reason
The best part is that I didn’t experience that grinding stress of providing for myself. It was the Lord leading me to create a prayer journal for men. Yes, for men….I have felt for some time that men have been getting short shrift in our society, and I had a heart for lifting them up and encouraging them.
The Result
I shared the adventure with some church friends, and one of them had a great idea. She talked to the women’s ministry team, and they decided to show some love to our church’s mens ministry. So each woman bought two copies of The Christian Man’s Prayer Journal and donated them to the men! This past Saturday the men received the journals!
My heart is soaring with this story! This is why the Lord gave me this idea … to bless His people!
