    I can see the “BG lying in state” both ways. I think the author makes some good points.

    There IS a danger of confusing our American way of life with the Kingdom of God, for sure.

    In fact, the theologian Reinhold Niebuhr criticized Graham for just that. Later in his career, Graham acknowledged that the 2 shouldn’t be seen as congruent.

    There are a lot of things about BG to admire. One is that he was humble and open to correction and new learning throughout his life, but especially when he was in the public limelight.
