Another slam dunk from Russell Moore. Leaving the SBC hierarchy and joining CT looks like a really, really good thing to me.
Bob 1. I read for a few seconds until I came to the pay wall. I know I shouldn’t judge a post by it’s first paragraphs but..
Moore doesn’t identify his subjects, or at least not north of the pay wall.
This is sop in Evangelalism. Moore’s subjects are identifying individuals in the Church as objects needing destruction. Moore can’t process this fact as a future civil war. Instead it’s like bad manners at the Holiday meal. It’s purely a non-tangible state of mind. Nobody is actually going to take action against other humans right?
Scanning several of the articles, I came to a conclusion. Much of what passes for Christianity in America at the present time would not even be recognized as such by the adherents of the early church. I say this not to push any particular agenda, but as someone who has devoted a substantial part of his life to the study of early Christianity. Future church historians will likely have to come up with a designation for this time in history, something similar to “the great apostasy”. All of us should be in sackcloth and ashes…
I really liked the “How Not to be a Celebrity” article
