Linkathon!
Linkathons get harder and harder to produce. Much of what is worth reading is paywalled on sites like Substack and much of the rest is a constant rehashing of political grievances.
Personally, I only visit a few sites online…I’m trying to trade the time online for time in actual books.
Still, I gave it a shot and here you go…
New report on beliefs about sin…
Scott Cairns poetry and some other books...articles like this have wiped out my book budget for the next few years…
All Saints Day reminds us that all saints die…
Why do Anglicans pray for the dead?
Halloween and the victory of Christ…
The antidote to election anxiety…
What happens when a loved one dies?
The religious and political composition of college campuses…
Paula White and other grifters meet with Trump…birds of a feather…
Why do horror movies use Christian imagery?
Why certainty can be so dangerous to faith…
Wisdom from Augustine in an election year…
This is a fun site...historyfacts.com…today, why Mary Shelley wrote “Frankenstein”…
What Christians should know about Halloween…
Trump bible makes a mockery of the real message..
The man who invented folk horror…
More on the Steve Lawson affair…
We tried Christian nationalism in America…it went badly…
What are childless people for?

“What Are Childless People For?” I’m still getting over the sting of Vance’s comment on childless cat ladies. I think I would have enjoyed being married and having children, but it didn’t happen for me. Instead, I’ve been a teacher blessed with many children in two different countries and among a myriad of cultures. I have lots of “family” that I am not related to by blood, and a phone full of numbers I can call in an emergency. I’m part of a church family that really cares for me and gives me endless opportunities to use my gift of teaching in two languages. Many of my former “kids” are now parents themselves, and I have had the privilege of teaching their children. I do support marriage, but God sometimes has paths for different people, and we need to take them as He leads.
As to Lawson…I think MacArthur’s church should be considering a new ministerial team and a total retooling of what biblical leadership is. They have been running at least two scandals a year for the past half-decade, and they don’t seem to know how to deal with the sin in their own camp.
Linn,
That’s a beautiful testimony…as a single man with lots of “kids” I very much appreciate what you wrote…

Good but sobering link, Michael.
I just read on The Roys Report about Charlie Kirk and his disgusting invasion of Grand Canyon University. One of my daughters attended there, and I’m so glad she already graduated.
CK,
The worst is yet to come…
