I will offer a couple observations that account for some of this:

The typical Evangelical does not acknowledge the concept of “sacred space” or “sacred time.” They do not typically call their church a “house of worship, much less the Lord’s House;” They typically use the term, “Campus” or “Auditorium.”

They see church as a gathering at a campus or auditorium to hear what is essentially a lecture or 45 minute bible study, bookended by a few vacuous band led praise songs. This is what constitutes their worship.

So, to them, having law enforcement barge to arrest someone in is no different to them than if law enforcement barged into a movie theatre or classroom somewhere.

This denial of the sacred in modern Christian piety is another modern innovation IMO.

I was briefly in a Bible study group that used Kay Arthur’s system. Anything that gets people looking more deeply into the word can open up understanding. You have to slow down and see details you wouldn’t otherwise. That said, highlighting nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc, in different colors felt like a high school English class. And we didn’t compare translations or looking into the Greek and Hebrew. But, she served God faithfully and helped others so “well done good and faithful servant”.
