Loose Ends and Links
I noted the “He Gets Us” campaign earlier this week and many wondered if the program was worth the cost.
Later that day, a mega church pastor/ friend who was part of the outreach contacted me and let me know that it has been very “successful” in doing what it set out to do…creating interest and space for people to inquire about Jesus.
His church has fielded thousands of those inquiries…so one has to think that it’s money well spent.
This is an excellent piece on the fall of a mega-church and it’s pastor...and could have been written with the names and location changed about a number of other churches I know of…
I’ve had a number of folks ask me what my view of “end times” is…the most important thing about the prophetic books of the Bible is that they are clear that their purpose is to encourage believers to remain faithful to Christ while living in exile under beastly governments…and beastly government is all we get until the kingdom comes in fullness. If you don’t get that…the rest is just hyper speculative drivel…
Finding emotional stability in the Daily Office…
What are theologians for? The case of Karl Barth’s adultery…
Why evangelicalism is in trouble…
Christians don’t have to agree all the time…
Spiritual realism in a divided America…
Michael,
Thanks for the update on the He Gets Us campaign. I will need to revisit it.
And, I love the poetry!!
