Remember way back when people would say they voted maga because it aligned with “their values “?

    I don’t think they were lying…make your own application…

It’s very plain to see that Trump and his people are systematically creating an atmosphere of terror both domestically and internationally. This week the head of DHS said that everyone, including American citizens, should carry adequate ID in case they are detained as the result of being in a place where a targeted ICE action is taking place, sweeping bystanders up. At that time, she said we would all have to prove our identities to the ICE agents involved. I ask: what ID? Should I carry my original birth certificate with me? Do I need to get a passport and wear it around my neck? What if they look into their hastily collected database via the hastily put together app on their phone and my name does not appear as US citizen? I assume their hastily assembled database Trumps my passport or original birth certificate, and at that point I get detained, maybe transferred to a detention center 3 or 4 states away from where I was detained, not allowed to see a lawyer or make a call for God knows how long.

Can anyone say, “Your papers, please.” I don’t want to see anyone invoke Godwin’s Law from now on, because those days are very much over. Godwin’s Law is obsolete in this country.

Was the administration lying when it said the agent who killed Renee Good had internal hemorrhaging in his torso as the result of being hit by her car during the incident? Why does the local police report say that he was transported from the scene directly to the federal building in Minneapolis instead of to a hospital; do they have an Urgent Care at the federal building? Everyone knows this administration would never lie, especially about such a grave matter, so there must be some kind of alibi. . . I mean. . . explanation.

The things I’m seeing and hearing via video, and the things I read, concerning what the federal government is doing in Minneapolis amount to serial human rights violations. Infants being tear gassed, men being kneed in the face on the sidewalk, agents kicking the living shit out of people prone of their backs and then gassing them in the face; it’s a litany of atrocities. Cruelty isn’t a bug in all this, it’s a feature.

And I can remember all the conservatives crying for years: Obama’s going to take our guns! Biden’s going to take our guns! Biden’s going to take our gas stoves! The liberals are going to send federal agents to force us to get vaccinated!

I thank God for the videographers who are providing witness to the horrible things being done by the federal government in Minneapolis. At the same time I’m appalled at the fact that they are being brutally attacked by federal agents for nothing more than making audio/video records of what those agents are doing, and many of the videos are by one videographer recording the brutalization of another one. Even though the monitoring they are doing is a constitutionally protected activity, no law against brutalizing people doing constitutionally protected activities means anything if it is not enforced, and no one is enforcing it. The whole justice system of the country has been corrupted.

Democracy isn’t dying in darkness; it’s being murdered in daylight as the world watches.

I’ll say one last thing, then I’ll shut up for the night….and maybe tomorrow: Trump and his people is using state terrorism against the people of Greenland, remembering that terrorism is the use or threat of violence to achieve political or ideological goals. In the scene unfolding on the world stage, America is Goliath, and Greenland is David. I hope and pray David brings down the giant.

I feel honored to have written the preface to the Robert F manifesto. It seems a record has been set for the amount of discussion I’ve precipitated with just one sentence.

I was reflecting on how pure and noble they made it sound at the beginning. “We are voting for our values. We are turning the country back to God.” Contrast sweet Christian people voting for a path they thought would lead to godliness to the nightmare of government sponsored violence it has devolved to today.

Maybe I am just getting old and don’t remember how I felt when I was young, or just maybe I never thought his way at all.

I have no problem separating the politics from faith. I am also at peace with what Paul taught about government and how it does not mean blindly submitting and following what ever the government of the day is.

I believe the message of following what Jesus taught and the Bible narratives is not about the pagan idea of pleasing God, or gods, to make life better nor to get into heaven. It’s about learning, application and then reflection of how things went or are going.

When I vote for a person to represent me, new taxes, or laws I do so based on the whole package. I also recognize, and here is where the learning, application and reflection experiences in life come in, there will be good and bad things from my choices. I also know unintended consequences always follow in the shadows of everything.

In my opinion the only path to godliness is a life which continues to learn, apply and reflect. It will never be found in a system of government or a person. In the end hardly anyone will remember who I was or how I lived. With my last breath I only hope I will not have this type of thing on my tombstone:

“For when Solomon was old, his wives turned his heart away after other gods”

And for those who say they have only one wife, well you missed the point.
