No relevance to THE Kingdom, i don’t think, but we can’t mow our grass/weeds because the little fledglings are leaving their nests and we might run over one with the lawn mower ….. 😳
That said, i hope this open blog DOES turn into a good discussion on the two kingdoms… I received a tote bag with the motto – I think it has merit?
“LAND OF THE FREE
BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE”
Question is does the Church receive enough teaching on our adversary (the devil) roaming this earth looking for victims? We don’t seem to understand our need to intelligently, or oterwise, defend The Faith. …..
Or so it seems to me… God keep all
Off topuc, hammer thrower, Berry, says our national anthem is disrespectful to our black population…
Say what? ? ? ? ?
Em,
Some blacks believe that the third stanza is overtly racist…
Thanks, Michael
Will look it up…..
Land of the free, because of the slave.
I caught the 7/3 YT posting from the Founders Ministries. It’s safe to say yhe SBC is breaking up. The Founders are upset over the Convention, and are at work to separate into an us vs them situation.
JD. Uhuh. 😤
Land of the free because of the determination and bravery of a bunch of pioneers who wouldn’t give up
Those slaves of long ago were picking cotton
We have progressed beyond slavery – fought an ugly war to make it hapoen
Question….
Can one repent without turning from what one is repenting? ? ?
Em,
No.
We have progressed past slavery…but slavery was followed by Reconstruction, which was followed by Jim Crow…which meant that as a teenager I still saw signs forbidding blacks after sundown.
We’re past slavery…but racism is embedded in our systems.
Michael, i grew up in a town where all black folk had to vacate before sundown (Glendale, CA.) It grieved my seriously Christian grandparents, but not an enforceable law today, so we’ve made some progress…
After she passed we found a news clipping in my grandmother’s Bible saying that Nat King Cole had bought a condo in Glendale. I suspect she’d been praying for many years…
But i do agree that we still have people among us who love to label and hate with a broad brush….
“Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” YES ! ! ! 😇
Join me in wishing Michael a Very Happy Birthday!
Thank you, Duane!
happy birthday, indeed!
