I had to look up Nick Cave…still not familiar with him…
Nick Cave was an Australian punk rocker back in the day. In 2016 his 15 year old son died in a cliff fall. His son’s passing totally undid Cave, and he embraced his season of loss and grief with abandon. He speaks and writes about suffering more wisely than 99% of the pastors I know. His book, “Faith, Hope, and Carnage” is in my top 5.
Another passing today that most people won’t know…David McIntyre, the winner of season 2 of the survival TV show called “ALONE,” died today. He was a former missionary and used his win as a platform for sharing about Jesus. I got to meet him at a breakfast where he was the guest speaker. He was a fan favorite because of his patience and faith.
J Warner Wallace’s “Person of Interest” was very edifying! How Jesus was born at JUST the right time and place, and especially Chap 10 about how, even if the Gospels were erased from earth, EVERY BIT OF THEM could be reproduced from the art that has been based on them! Sculpture, painting, engraving, music….there’s so many places we can find encouragement!
