No politics from me on this thread. I think I’m entering the 5th stage of grief. ๐Ÿ™‚

Music is up for the week. Feel free to drop by. Have a great weekend all!

  4. Steve Wright says:

I woke up thinking the same as Jim @2. None from me either.

  5. stupid says:

Sorry fellas but the 5th stage of grief is closed. Obama wants you to feel it.

  6. Well, it’s not politics, but it is bigger news than Obama Care – Dodger’s pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training in 81 days.

It will mark the end of the void.

  7. stupid says:

This just in- E T found languishing near death in ditch at Chevez Ravine clutching the LA Times sports page in his previously glowing pitch-dark fingers. Sources believe the local Dodger fan succumbed to severe depression when he could not contact members of the Dodger’s recruiting team.

Elliot could not be located for a statement and is assumed to be out looking for ET’s phone.

  8. Reuben says:

When I upgraded my Droid X2 to a Samsung Galaxy Note2 at the Verizon store, the 16 year old zit popper told me that if I purchased an insurance policy, all I had to do if my phone broke was bring it to the store and get a new one. My phone broke. I took it to the same store. Store then tells me that insurance claims have nothing to do with Verizon and I need to do the swap with the insurance company.

Note to Verizon: go to hell, you filthy scum liars.

  9. filbertz says:

ACA should sell cell phone insurance to offset losses on the health care front…that’ll get the youngers into the system too. As far as service, well, Verizon shouldn’t be hard to beat… ๐Ÿ˜‰

  10. Ricky Bobby says:

0bamacare may be the single biggest Government flustercluck of all time. It’s going to get much worse before it gets better. A lot of very problematic stuff doesn’t kick in until 2015…and what we’re facing now is bad enough.

  11. Ricky Bobby says:

MLD, Kasten and Magic will have to spend some more money…Dodgers are still mediocre, they can’t win the big games.

  12. Dude says:

I don’t trust politcians period.Democrats are liberal liars and Republicans are conservative liars……Jesus has never lied to me yet and thats where I put my trust.
Thats my rant for this fine Saturday in November.

  13. Good day today!
The wife and I went thrifting. Hit some Goodwills and Sonrise Mission Thrift in Southhaven.

    Picked up some books:
Life As a Vapor by John Piper
Insomnia by Stephen King (read it before, but love the book)
    Ringworld’s Children by Larry Niven
A True History of the Assassination of Abraham Lincoln and of the Conspiracy of 1865 by Louis J. Weichmann

Also picked up two vinyl albums:
Beethoven, Symphony No. 9 in D Minor (Op. 125) (“Choral”) as performed by Orchestre de la Suisse Romande.
Merry Christmas by Bing Crosby. (It is fast closing in on Xmas and Bing is the man for that.)

  14. Must admit, there is little to be said against Obamacare right now.
Obamacare now speaks for itself and people don’t like what they are hearing from it.

Interesting though, during the shutdown Republicans were lamabasted by Democrats and even by some in their own party, like McCain, for wanting to delay Obamacare for a year.
Heartless and uncaring. How dare they try this on something that has been made “law”!

Seems like the tide has turned and now Democrats can’t wait to delay it till after their elections.

  15. stupid says:

    McCain is a Republican??

  16. Of course he is. Well, at least when politically expedient.
But ain’t that the truth with them all, D’s and R’s?
Really just looking out for their interests until it looks like their interests might end up in them losing their seat.

    Haven’t you heard?

In September, he was criticizing Ted Cruz for wanting to defund or repeal.
    Now he wants to repeal.

  17. Bob, an Apple product fan says:

I bought an iPad Mini last year from Best Buy so I could use my $20 discount. I took it to Verizon to activate the LTE on my account and they offered me the insurance you mentioned. I asked, and they told me that if I broke it the insurance provider would ship me a new phone.

Since it cost more than Apple Care and the Apple Store would just hand me a new iPad on the spot I got Apple Care. Two year plan on my iPhone 5 $98.00 and I believe the same on my iPad Mini.

BTW Verizon was straight up when I asked about all the replacement stuff so if I were you I would go to the next level over your local store. They want to keep good customers and not lose them to the competition. Who knows what you can negotiate.

Derek – 39 House Democrats voted with the Republicans on the Upton bill.

You are spot on with the above.

    Here’s a discussion.

  19. stupid says:

It’s a ruse. The Dems have their own bill. This bill will be rejected in favor of the Senate bill. The Reps will be made to look like they hate old people. Whatever it takes to win midterm elections.

  20. brian says:

Pastor Steve if I am correct you have worked in the insurance industry what would you do to fix / remake / do over an Affordable Health Care? Personally I would not have used to commerce clause to force compliance, I would have had a “matter of conscience” exemption of some medication procedures mainly reproductive drugs and procedures mainly abortion for many of the reasons stated in many news articles and I would have had some type of pre existing conditions. We do need universal health reform of some type, I dont think this is it.

  21. Dude says:

Nice Sunday ,church then went grocery shopping and it going to start raining.Time for a nice nap.

  22. Derek, you have good taste in music! I have a lot of classical stuff on vinyl. Can’t imagine a holiday season without Bing Crosby singing White Christmas.

  23. stupid says:

What about the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday? Isn’t there any good Thanksgiving music? I’m dreaming of a Tom Thanksgiving.

  24. Steve Wright says:

Michael, I have been reading about Oregon. What is going on up there?

I read that they have not had ONE single person sign up for health care yet, but they have placed 70,000 on Medicaid? How is that possible?

Do you have a local take on this? It is my understanding that Medicaid in Oregon will deny certain treatments for very ill people but will pay for euthanasia services?

Am I misinformed on any of this? Forget politics, just as a Christian (who personally is very anti-euthansia) this both scares and infuriates me.

  25. Michael says:

I know that as of the other day we can now apply online.
Unfortunately, it only works with Internet Explorer, so I haven’t given it a shot yet.
The Medicaid numbers don’t surprise me as our economy is a disaster south of Portland and many will qualify for that part of the package.
I haven’t heard anything about euthanasia services, but that wouldn’t surprise me either.
The metro areas of the state are so liberal that they make me look as conservative as you.

  26. Steve Wright says:

I guess my shock was in the incompetence at enrolling people in insurance, but apparently some pretty good efficiency at getting them into medicaid.

    Thanks for the info…
