Pray For Fil & Family

“My first-born son took his life last Sunday. He was 31 years old and serving in the US Army. It has been a week, now, and no words can summarize his life nor express the depth of our loss. Our many friends who knew our son and love my family have rallied around us and surrounded us with caring compassion. In the morning, I fly to Texas with my second son, an Army veteran, to join the memorial service for him at Fort Hood. Meanwhile my wife will travel to Portland to meet the plane that carries his remains. It is a brutal reality that is made bearable only by the assurance that he is at peace in the presence of our Lord.”
