Our hopes are filled with promises of well-being, justice, and mercy.
Move us this day beyond our fears and anxieties into your land of goodness.
We wait for your coming, we pray for your kingdom.
In the meantime, give us bread for the day.”

the last 24 hours brought me word of a dear young woman’s passing and of a cousin’s prognosis of his own passing within the year ahead… reading the list here this morning and praying for our God to be close and real to all who come here, giving strength for the day… Lord, deliver us from evil… in our own strength, we’re no match for the devil

nene…praying for you and your family.

An interesting conundrum with my sister…the more I and others pray for her, the more she hates me, my husband and our children. Please pray for her salvation, too….

  8. nene/nancy says:

    Thank you all….

Lord have mercy on those loved ones here…we need you….hear our prayers.

  9. Erunner says:

nene, I’m so sorry. Praying for you and yours during this difficult time.

John 20:29, I’m sorry to read of the news you’ve received. May God work in the lives of your cousin and family. May He also work in the lives of those impacted by the passing of the young woman.

Linnea, what a tragic thing to read about your sister. I pray God would work powerfully in her life to not only to touch her body but to bring her to the cross as well. Also prayers for you that you would have wisdom as time moves on as to how to respond to your sister.

I had mom over today and she told me she’s drinking 16 ounces of water daily. My sister has shown me her bad attitude again as she has two doctors saying it’s okay for mom to have a colon and endoscopy. She told me our brother-in-law who is a fantastic cardiologist was the odd man out.

Both of her legs have a pulse. One kidney isn’t working. She’s losing weight. I’m not seeing the point of putting her at risk by being put under as well as the impact of the pre oscopies prep. So for now I’m stopping the procedures. She’s not in any pain and what if they find something? I don’t believe she could hold up, let alone survive whatever could be found to be corrected if I allowed the procedures.

I’m going to talk to the cardiologist and let him know how I feel about this. Today mom was with me laughing and happy as we watched 28 year old video of our family. The idea of talking and considering her passing is difficult. I’ll also be looking at cost for a burial plot, casket, etc. so I can be prepared for when that time comes. You guys are the ones who pray for me outside of family and friends at church. It means the world to me. Allan

  10. Sarah says:

So many heavy things. praying for each tonight, for grace in the moment to walk through these various struggles. Praying for this Christmas season to bring joy in the midst of all of this, and not a heavier burden.

  11. John 20:29 says:

we just made arrangements for the Friday euthanasia and cremation of a beautiful, but now very ill dog… hoping that good animals such as her are “reconstituted” in the new earth to come even if doggie heaven is only wishful thinking

again reading the list here and praying… God provide for the day for each of these who love and wish to honor Your as they deal with their own health, family and others who are near and dear – even tho some who are loved do not respond well, give Your children strength and a loving firm stand in these situations… praying with Sarah that the chill of winter will be overcome with the joy of the celebration of the unspeakable gift of a Savior

  12. Michael says:

    John 20:29,

So sorry to hear of your upcoming loss…pet heaven is as real to me as person heaven…I have a few cats waiting for a reunion.

  13. John 20:29 says:

thank you Michael … i’m sure God has them well cared for as i remember the sparrow example

  14. John 20:29 says:

as i read here this snowy morning i join in praying to the Father in the name of Jesus the Christ that God the Holy Spirit bring strength, understanding and hope to the precious (you are that) souls who’ve expressed their hearts and needs on this thread… hover over those who are fighting illness in their mortal bodies as we pray for healing, we pray for the assurance to Your presence – Thank You, Father, Son and Holy Spirit – thank You so much for the privilege of prayer

  15. mk says:

Amen to the above prayer @ #14 – beautiful.

Nene – joining in prayer for your family. So sorry for your loss.

Thank you, Dusty, for listing the prayer needs. Also praying for John 20:29’s beloved pet, Linnea’s sister and Erunner’s health and family. Praying God’s peace which surpasses all understanding to carry each person through.

So thankful I was able to make it back home to see my mom – she had a setback the day I arrived and was admitted to the hospital again. Being able to hold her hand and just be with her was precious, as well as seeing my siblings. A praise report that she has some really gifted doctors working on her case to hopefully get her well…it’s still a long, difficult journey.

  16. Linnea says:

E…thank you so much for prayers. Praying for your Mom, your family situation, and your Mom’s peace and comfort.

mk…thank you, too, for prayers for my sister and family situation.

John 20:29…my heart and prayers go out to you. We’ve lost 2 dogs over the last year and still grieve their loss…they are truly loving friends. Thank you for your prayers.
