Next to following Christ, and working towards perfect love which casts out fear, one of the best ways I have found to avoid fear is to turn the news off.

So much of the news is depressing, terrifying, and psychologically creates an atmosphere of anxiety. Fear being a snare…I try to avoid it.

A nice nature walk, praying & praising, remembering God is King and His will shall be done…all good remedies for fear.

I want to share a praise. We have friends who live in small English town. They are pastoring a tiny little church there. Many of the folks coming to the church are drug addicts, alcoholics, or from dysfunctional families. In the 2 years we have been visiting that church (every month or so) we have seen lives transformed. 1. a woman with 4 children from 4 men, who couldn’t read or write past a 2nd grade and is in poor health. She is now reading and writing, she has learned to bake cakes (taught by the pastor’s wife) for her neighbours and friends, she is shining for Jesus. 2. A neighbour who was drinking up to 10 bottles of wine a day. This woman was naked, and lying outside during a snow storm. She had soiled herself, and was dying. My friends carried her into her house, bathed her, dressed her and over the next 3 months fed her, loved her, and shared the gospel with her. We saw here 4months ago and she looked like she would die any day. We could not believe she was the same woman yesterday! She is sober, loves Jesus and is truly a new creature in Christ. My husband and I count is such a privilege to be even a very small part of this incredible ministry. People, God is moving and changes lives when we are willing to love others, without limits, pointing others to Jesus.

Would you all pray for Tony and Mike, only children of Janet, who lost her husband a couple of years ago. Both sons were diagnosed with cancer at the same time. Prayers for all three are appreciated.
