Prayer & Praise
We are fearful folk, and we dwell in the midst of a fearful people,
fearful of our world falling apart, in terror and moral decay,
fearful of too many “dangers, toils, and snares,”
fearful of not doing well, of being found out, of being left out, of being abandoned, of our own shadow.
Amid then we hear, astonishingly in the midst of our fearfulness, your mighty, “DO NOT FEAR”
do not fear, I am with you,
with you in wealth and in poverty,
with you in success and in failure,
with you for better or for worse.
We hear, we trust, we receive your comfort and are made new.
We thank you for the newness of our identity, of our trust, of our calling.
Because of your new utterance of life to us, we will not fear, though the earth should change, though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea.
We, your new people, thank you for your newness and notice that you work newness among us, for we know about being, lame people who walk, blind people who see, dead people who live, poor people who are unburdened.
We rally round your newness that is both our hope and our work.
Your fearless newness into which we are immersed is beyond our expectation;
But we are not offended by it; not scandalized by you; not ashamed of your newness; not embarrassed by your healings.
We ask now for energy and freedom, rooted in your fearlessness, that we may live toward and from and for your newness that bubbles up, even in the midst of us, all around us to the uttermost parts of the earth.
We pray in the name of your fearless gift of newness who scandalizes the world and makes all things new, even Jesus. Amen.

Praying for Pakistan.
And Kenya
Joining you in prayers for both…
Praying for victims of hatred. Oh Lord help them.
Next to following Christ, and working towards perfect love which casts out fear, one of the best ways I have found to avoid fear is to turn the news off.
So much of the news is depressing, terrifying, and psychologically creates an atmosphere of anxiety. Fear being a snare…I try to avoid it.
A nice nature walk, praying & praising, remembering God is King and His will shall be done…all good remedies for fear.
I want to share a praise. We have friends who live in small English town. They are pastoring a tiny little church there. Many of the folks coming to the church are drug addicts, alcoholics, or from dysfunctional families. In the 2 years we have been visiting that church (every month or so) we have seen lives transformed. 1. a woman with 4 children from 4 men, who couldn’t read or write past a 2nd grade and is in poor health. She is now reading and writing, she has learned to bake cakes (taught by the pastor’s wife) for her neighbours and friends, she is shining for Jesus. 2. A neighbour who was drinking up to 10 bottles of wine a day. This woman was naked, and lying outside during a snow storm. She had soiled herself, and was dying. My friends carried her into her house, bathed her, dressed her and over the next 3 months fed her, loved her, and shared the gospel with her. We saw here 4months ago and she looked like she would die any day. We could not believe she was the same woman yesterday! She is sober, loves Jesus and is truly a new creature in Christ. My husband and I count is such a privilege to be even a very small part of this incredible ministry. People, God is moving and changes lives when we are willing to love others, without limits, pointing others to Jesus.
Nonnie, Glory to God!
Amen!! Glory to God!
That’s wonderful, Nonnie!
Would you all pray for Tony and Mike, only children of Janet, who lost her husband a couple of years ago. Both sons were diagnosed with cancer at the same time. Prayers for all three are appreciated.
