Reboot
We’ll be back tomorrow with the Weekend Word and most importantly, the prayer thread.
On Monday we’ll talk about where we go from here, what’s changed, and why I decided to come back.

Michael, welcome back!
I better pick a good movie for tomorrow.
Centy,
I may come watch it with you. π
Whoo whoo!!!
Great to see you all here!
This is better than Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride!! π
Good one Erunner.
Well, shiver me timbers and blow me down, an extra round of grog for all! I’ll even settle for Kahlua!
Welcome back, Pastor Michael!
Thank you, CK! π
When the demon winds blow it can be so hard to remain standing. Your emotions get stretched and you can become so tired of it all. Michael I am blessed by your resilience, your ability to bounce back and stand once again. You are like the palm tree that bends in high winds and rises up in place unbroken. Phoenix Preacher is a very fitting name indeed. God’s hand and calling are not something that you take lightly, your return speaks as a testimony to your loyalty to Christ!
Thank you, David…we’ll see how it turns out. π
From Steve Hopkins’s Facebook page:
“After surgery and 3 days in the hospital I got home from OHSU this morning about 11:30. Debbie and I are recovering. The pathology report wont come back until Monday but the Doctor feels it will confirm that the cancer is grade 1. I am thankful for my wife and children, my church family, and those who prayed for me.”
Welcome back, Michael! It’s good to see the PP up & running again. π
Very glad you’re back, Michael!
Thanks, Bill and Tim. π
Good to see things up and running again!

Red’s Catechism….
“I find I’m so excited I can barely sit or hold a thought in my head. I think it’s the excitement only a free man can feel, a free man at the start of a long journey whose conclusion is uncertain. I hope I can make it across the border. I hope I can see my friend and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is as blue as it is in my dreams. I hope.”
What a wonderful Sunday! Welcome back home Michael! π
π so glad there is another party since i was so late to the former
i am thankful for your return Michael. I hope you’re not blocked at the court office like BrianD’s site is…
Back in my Bookmarks!
So glad you are back, glad evryone is back
Woo Hoo! Thank you Michael… who would have thought online community was SO important! Glad to see you all here again π
Good stuff.
It is so good to be back here with everyone. This place has become a sweet place of familiarity with so many of you. A place where we laugh, share, exhort one another, challenge one another and pray for one another. I am so glad the doors are opened once again and we can gather here in His name.
Hugs to all!!
Morning peeps…at church.
Phoenix rises from the ashes again!
Good morning beautiful blog family π
Michael and my friends here at Phoenix Preacher, all I can say is yippy!!!
Welcome back Michael!
So glad you’re back Michael. May God be with you, guide you, and strengthen you as you continue to host this diversely rich (and sometimes quite strenuous) community.
While in lighter times it can almost be humorous to look back on all the times you have quit or almost quit, only to come back again later. But on the serious side, I sometimes don’t know how you keep going on. Between the diversity, the raw emotion often brought by the diverse group, and the topics dealt with, it’s amazing you’ve lasted this long. I dare say there is no other community close to this on the internet. But you must be serving a much needed purpose. How else can we explain it but God.
Welcome back, everyone.
Ahhh… I love me a good reboot.
Happy 4th everyone.
Thank you, Kevin…and Phil and Everstudy. π
ok, i refuse to go away from here not knowing what Red’s catechism is … is BD alright? π
Em,
I loved that quote as well…BD needs to tell us more.
Red Skelton??
Would the lyrics from the Door’s “LA Woman” be totally inappropriate?
Mr Mojo Risin’,
Got to keep on risin’
It’s from the end of Shawshank Redemption which is considered a classic by many but has the typical Stephen King blasphemy within. The warden is evil and corrupt but naturally portrayed as a Bible believing Christian – I won’t spoil anything (though the movie is forever old) but the idea that salvation is found in the Bible is mocked by the twist ending.
I’m sure those who love it will say otherwise…if you watch it, it has earned its R rating.
Oh…so Red Skelton wasn’t in that one huh? π
The first round for Brock Lesnar last night was brutal but then in classic Newnham fashion you had to stick around for round two! The Phoenix rose! π
Okay, I’m off to purchase a pineapple. Burgers, hot dogs, fruit salad, macaroni salad, brownies, beans, adult beverages! π― In our home adult beverages means soda that contains caffeine! Not that there’s anything wrong with that!! π
HAPPY 4th everyone!!!!
AV thank you – Stephen King’s take on life upsets my fantasy of a perfect world, so i stay away from his material π
i can go away with a peaceful mind now – got words to write, myself …
Love the Red quote…love Shawshank Redemption. Stephen King is a brilliant writer…he often gets overlooked in the sea of serious literary works…as his “horror” headliners garner most of the mass’s attention.
Shawshank and Green Mile…excellent stories…told by a master story-teller.
King’s “Theology”? Well, of course, that’s another issue altogether…AV pretty much sums it up.
I will say the “Warden” in Shawshank reminded me of someone I know.
