The Year Of Small Expectations…Part 2
Yesterday, I wrote my (rather stoic) expectation of the New Year.
I thought it important to write about the fact that suffering is one of the marks of a believer and it struck a chord with many of you.
I also wrote that I hoped for some mercy along the way.
Now…the rest of the story…
I was driving home last night after taking Trey home from work…praying and agonizing over what to do about Miss Kitty.
Should I take her to the ER so she could get treated immediately or risk waiting another night and take her to her normal vet?
She’d not had food or water for two days…cats kidneys start to deteriorate soon after that long without either.
She needed treatment now..but the emergency hospital cost way more than I had.
I was sitting at stop light and finished my prayer… “Lord have mercy on Missy and I”… and immediately a donation notice popped up on my phone.
A name I hadn’t seen before.
It was in almost the exact amount needed to take her to the hospital.
It was the hand of God bringing the mercy of God.
Unexpected, inexplicable, but real.
I’m slow, but I knew what to do at that point.
I left the truck running as I gathered up my feline friend and off to the hospital we went.
Four hours later, I brought Miss Kitty home alive and happily medicated.
She went straight to her bowl and ate…and ate some more after that.
She’ll need some dental work done later, but she’s still with us and with me.
God had mercy.
I never thought I’d be able to tell a story like this, but I’m very grateful I can.
That’ll teach me to make fun of George Mueller…
Thank you, Lord and thanks to your human hand who heard you.
Expect suffering, pray for mercy, receive what He gives.
Make your own application…
What a wonderful story! God bless you and Miss Kitty.
Amen. Praise God…. I hope you continue to see the Hand of God in both the ‘small’ and ‘big’ things of this life. Glad Miss Kitty is on the mend…. and you as well.
Love and New Year’s Blessings
Ahhh, two answered prayers… One for Miss Kitty’s welfare and one for Michael’s….
Maybe three? Shouldn’t this encourage us all?
Being a big Dr. Pol fan, i’m wondering if the vet hydrated Kitty….
Thank you, Paige and Xenia…I do pray that this encourages others as well.
Em…they hydrated her and ran lots of tests…all at the emergency holiday rate. 🙂
Thank God, I was able to cover it.
She’ll be seeing our regular vet this afternoon.

Bentley.
My kitty too , this is his name. He keeps me company. He talks to me , loves me. He liked to sit on the window sill gazing out at the big wide world. Once it started to get cold…..he came down with a cold. His eye got red and started to run. Sure enough l thought l better take him to the vet. But l could not afford the vet either. So l
Prayed over him and for him. Sure enough he was better in a few days. I thank the Lord that he loves and cares for us all. All creatures great and small ! God Bless.
prayed over him, for him. Sure enough
S,
Bless you and Bentley…may he be your companion for years to come.
I am notorious with my congregation for my disinterest in pets. It has nothing to do with dislike of animals rather my lack of band width to care about something extra. Nevertheless, I always enjoy your devotion.
And, it is good to see 2019 begin for you with answered prayer. Every sigh is a yearning is a prayer in my world. I am glad to see this.
Blessed Dread
BD,
I volunteered to be the chaplain for the vet hospital… 🙂
