A Travesty In Medford
One of the most successful programs in the country helping homeless people transition from the street to stability will soon be no more.
Rogue Retreat was co-founded by Chad McComas 24 years ago and served as a model nationwide for what can be done about this growing issue.
McComas was fired Monday…his offense was that he told a reporter (when asked) that homosexuality was a sin.
Fringe groups associated with LGBTQ+ organizations demanded he be fired.
The city investigated whether he had ever discriminated against a person on the basis of sexual preference, as did the groups board.
There was nothing found.
McComas was fired for thinking improperly (according to the fringe) and the lives saved and changed matter nothing compared to the crime of agreeing with 2000 years of church history and tradition.
24 years and hundreds of changed lives…matter not when fringe interests control the money.
Now, the Christians that supported this good work will withdraw that support as will others who simply value the freedom to think.
This good work will be no more…and people will suffer because of it.
This is not a political issue and won’t be changed with political actions…but it’s good to remember that there is a battle going on…
Almost as bad as the 80-year-old woman in Seattle being kicked out of the YMCA for a proposing a boy masquerading as a girl in the girls locker room. Yeah that’s. That’s been big on the news all week. But the YMCA’s have been going to the dogs for years back in the day radio announcer was talking about the YMCA in Charlotte that was turned into a bath house.
Was he fired for saying homosexuality was a sin or that he believed they could be reoriented to heterosexuality?
From the Tribune
“ McComas had been on administrative leave since mid-June, after two local organizations, Siskiyou Abolition Project and Siskiyou Rising Tide, claimed meetings held at McComas’s Set Free Chritian Fellowship endorsed gay conversion therapy in 2018. As a result, McComas was the subject of two investigations.”
I think this is important too
“ The results of an investigation by Rogue Retreat, made public Wednesday, found no evidence of discrimination by McComas or Rogue Retreat staff.”
Don’t follow the approved narrative, no matter how noble & effective, CANCELED
One thing that will not be tolerated on both sides of the great divide (fringe groups leaning left and right) is freedom of thought.
This is textbook leftist fascism. This spirit possesses the public sphere. Thank you for decrying it. Obviously the guy was a dirty Christian. Make him unhireable.
Of course it’s political.
I loathe both sides of the fringe…but there is no political solution to this nonsense because both sides are run by the fringe.
The decline of this program will have a profound effect on the whole community…for the sake of a few militants.
