Are you giving away free money, or soliciting donations? That makes a difference!

  2. Michael says:

    Neither at the moment.
I’m running Google Adsense display ads…they will pop up…I’m seeing them at the bottom of the page.
If they are real annoying, I’ll take them out.

Michael, Now I get it. I thought it was the large $ sign you were talking about!

  4. Dan from Georgia says:

Ad popped up in the middle of the screen. I have visited a few pages elsewhere that have this feature. Sometimes I don’t know if I am supposed to click outside the add to close it or somewhere else. I do find it annoying.

  5. Em says:

Michael,, if this site needs the income, I for one can cope with those ads! ! !

  6. Michael says:

I took them down…it’ll take about an hour ro get rid of them

  7. Dan from Georgia says:

hopefully not a dumb question, but I see the amazon adds to the right. You’re still an associate?

  8. Michael says:

    Dan,

I am…but we haven’t reached the threshold to get paid in months… 🙂

It’s hard to use ads on a site like this…we haven’t done well with them in years, so I’ll try again in a few more years…

  9. Dan from Georgia says:

The Google Adsense tool would definitely NOT keep me from coming to this site, just so you know. I can deal with the ads, but some are more annoying than others. Drudgereport is using some add tool that, when you click on one of their links, some links bring you to an advertisement, so you have to go back and click the link again to get the actual news/story item. That is the worst I have seen.

  10. Michael says:

    Dan,

I’ve always had an aversion to ads…they just look tacky and distract from what you’re trying to do.
I’ll figure something better out someday…

What about a “merch” page? Or a click-through link to commerce sites that provide income?

  15. Steve says:

Dan, between Phoenix preacher and Drudge report the Christian and secular worlds are well represented. I don’t mind the ads but I truly admire that Michael has more concern for the obvious regarding the Christian world.

  16. Dan from Georgia says:

    Very true Steve!

  17. Dan from Georgia says:

…in the spirit of full disclosure…I don’t peruse the Drudgereport often, and I take the aggregation choices with a HUGE grain of salt.

    PhxP is my community!

  18. Mark Ruby says:

Drudgereport is not a friend to conservatives, and turned left-leaning not long after Trump was elected. Most of Drudge’s links are to corporate media stories.
    Some good alternatives are:
    For the economy, Mises.org
    Society and politics, VictorHanson.com

  19. Dan from Georgia says:

    Skol Vikings!

    (That was ad and politics-free)

  20. Michael says:

    The experiment is over…Skol!

  21. Dan from Georgia says:

Micheal…I don’t fancy myself as an astute NFL prognosticator, or good at breaking down film, but I HONESTLY had a hunch that the Vikes-Pack game would come down to a field goal and the final score would be very close.

  22. Michael says:

    Dan,

It was a very entertaining game unless you’re a Viking fan recovering from open heart surgery…at least I would have croaked in my Jefferson jersey… 🙂

  23. Dan from Georgia says:

Yes, definitely wasn’t a game where you could just enjoy watching your favorite squad beat down another.
