Another excellent broadcast. I’m reading a book by Spurgeon titled “Grace, God’s Unmerited Favor” and in it he dismisses anything of ourselves in the strongest terms that we think played a part in our salvation.
I bring that up because Michael was very clear that Jesus is God the Son and all other paths outside of Jesus and His shed blood are of the devil.
Those words can offend many and I think cause believers to back off this truth in a day of trying not to offend.
The devil has deceived millions upon millions by repackaging the Gospel in ways that attract pretty much anyone. In fact they can be repackaged so nicely the common believer may not be able to tell the difference and by their ignorance and compromise inadvertently paint the church as what the world sees and treats us like.
The pressure is and will continue to be enormous for us to cling to the essentials of the faith and be able in love to present and demonstrate them to the lost among us. Our brothers and sisters through the ages have died because they would not deny the one who purchased them with His shed blood and resurrection.
As I read and listen to broadcasts like this it reminds me what an unfathomable gift it is I have received.
A bit of Spurgeon and Michael was a good tonic for me today.
Erunner,
Thank you for listening and for the kind words and response.
I’m glad that Phil collects the hate mail and hides it from me.;-)
Thanks for a badly needed reality check.
Thank you, Dude…
