We Americans just cannot get accustomed to the reality that we don’t matter.
It will be fascinating to see what the confessing, not professing, church looks like when the reality of BD’s statement is embraced by His people. I think the dross of much of the evangelical industrial complex will be burned away–no worries for its current leadership as they have plenty of savings.
I am optimistic that once the confessing church is free from the shackles of love of power and prestige, it’s real beauty will be revealed.
