“Commandos For Christ”?
I’ve never seen anything like this…
A Kentucky pastor posted a video on Monday defending teaching a group of children to be “Commandos for Christ” by participating in a firing squad.
What this really is…is abuse of the Scriptures and abuse of the children.
In Jesus name, of course…

I saw this today, and thought “This is what comes from normalizing men with weapons, wandering the streets of USA, grabbing ‘the enemy’ or shooting them – all now on camera so that we can watch it over and over, as if it is a movie and not happening to real people.”
And, in order to sell it as normal and necessary, our government sells it to us as ‘good’ and ‘in the name of God’ and ‘to return to our Christian roots’.
Even they don’t really believe that. Not really. But the gullible do.
Men, in military gear, with guns, enter a church, and attack and shoot ‘the enemy’ and drag his body across the ground out. And we are supposed to rejoice that the children enter into the slogan cheering. Abuse is too light a word for this.
God help us.
There are enough examples in Scripture and history about what happens to evil people and the fall of Satan to teach children the triumph of good over evil. I think this pastor needs psychological assessment
There aren’t words strong enough to condemn what this pastor, and the people who cosplayed this event, and the church leadership of this congregation, did to those children. God help those children.
Are the figures in fatigues holding rifles and killing the “enemy” men or boys?
That has got to be one of the most evil, vile and disgusting things I’ve ever seen. What the he!! is wrong with these people?
This happened to the German people in the 1930(s).
So long as it’s a small number of crazies, we’ll be ok.
More cosplayers pretending to be badasses. No different than the OathKeeper MAGA cultists cosplaying GI Joe. And both groups will run away like scared little girls when the Excrement Gets Real. Both need to remember that other people have guns too. And these Hitlerjugend wannabees in this church need to remember that most of the were killed without remorse and hesitation in fires of Berlin 1945. Historical accounts estimate that only around 10% of the approximately 5,000 Hitler Youth involved in the battle survived. A 12 year insurrectionist with a rifle is no different that an adult IMHO and should be treated as such (2 rounds to the center torso). That is what the Allies did during WWII.
The text says this, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7
And this: “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,” 2 Cor 10:4
Somewhere this church has missed the whole point of being subject to God.
Sadly not teaching people about God’s instructions for life and instead inserting social political ideology is not limited to this example of a church and its leadership.
This video reminded me of this from ‘The Council on Foreign relations’
‘Teaching Hate in Palestinian Schools’
“Despite repeated promises of reform, the school textbooks used in West Bank schools run by the Palestinian Authority continue to teach children hatred and to glorify violence.”
The Pope recently affirmed this:
“Enough of the idolatry of self and money! Enough of the display of power! Enough of war! True strength is shown in serving life. With evangelical simplicity, Saint John XXIII once wrote: “The benefits of peace will be felt everywhere, by individuals, by families, by nations, by the whole human race.” And echoing the incisive words of Pius XII, he added: “Nothing is lost by peace; everything may be lost by war””
Wise words which mirrors in my opinion the heart of God.
Mars worship, pure and simple.
JD,
The 1st Century Jews wanted a fighter like Barrabbas and be “Commandos for Jehovah” and I am sure after he was released they trained like these cosplayers. In 70 AD their poor choice resulted in their utter destruction courtesy of the real Mars worshipers: Legio X Fretensis, Legio V Macedonica, Legio XII Fulminata, and Legio XV Apollinaris. They try to follow in their Barrabbas-following ancestors and they will suffer the same fate. Serves them right.
The blasphemous irony of having armed men playact the execution of “the devil” in a church built in the name of one who himself was sent by religious zealots to be executed by the powers. It’s like the people who put this together don’t having any feeling for what Good Friday means, and have actually pinned the name of “the devil” on a victim who really symbolizes Jesus Christ. They are teaching these children to take the side of his murderers against Jesus Christ.
In a different time, instead of “Take him out! Blow him up!”, they would’ve had these children screaming “Crucify him!”
complete ignorance and deep seated foolishness. Pathetic. These children will need more than thoughts and prayers.
I saw David Bentley Hart say in regards to what’s happening in our country with Christian Nationalism that he wishes all of the empire laden fake Christianity to just burn down and completely be gone. This video makes me want the same thing.
The first century Jews wanted their Barrabbas just like these Christian Nationalists and they reaped the whirlwind in 70 AD. Their Make Israel Great Again movement was burnt down and completely destroyed. I hope the same thing happens this fake Christianity, even if it means 25 million or more suffer the same fate as those in 70 AD to prove them wrong.
“I hope the same thing happens this fake Christianity, even if it means 25 million or more suffer the same fate as those in 70 AD to prove them wrong.”
This kind of statement fits right in with what happened at the church in this thread.
As far as the history of Israel goes; today, July 2, 2026, is the “17th of Tammuz” 3 weeks before the destruction of the Temple. You also need to look up Bar Kokhba and how he led a brutal revolt against Rome and 3 years of independence as a State from 132 – 136 AD.
Now consider what Jesus did on the “other side.”
He cast a “legion: of demons out of a man into a herd of pigs which ran into the sea of Galilee and drowned.
The Legion of Legio X Fretensis had a wild boar for its emblem and was permanently based in Jerusalem.
Was it just an accident that Jesus cast a legion of demons into a herd of pigs right near a Roman outpost on the shores of Galilee?
Some say the location, Sussita, and the freed man led to the spreading of the Gospel to those in predominately gentile area establishing a Christian church in the Roman outpost.
Who were these demons possessing the man and why did they choose the very symbol of the Roman Legion? Hey, maybe it’s just a story placed in a convenient to prove a point about human warfare. You all decide.
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,”
TH,
My whole point is because the Jews in 70AD decided to live by the sword, they died by it. Kind of like sowing and reaping, Karma is a *itch, what does around comes around, etc. Which means, if they go down this path, that is the result, and it serves them right. If you put your hand on a hot stove after being told not too because it will burn and you do it any way, it is your own damn fault. I have no sympathy for you. Likewise I had no sympathy for the followers of Barrabbas nor if any of these Christian Nationalists get themselves killed if the excrement gets real. And God himself uses outside godless entities to clean up the dumpster fires in ancient Israel and the in the church. In fact, looking at Scriptures, that seems to be preferred option he uses (Assyria anyone?) God seems to understand that you need both the carrot and the stick. And unfortunately people tend to be to obtuse or self-absorbed for the carrot.
TH,
And we also know how well the Bar Kochba revolt ended up. Most of the entire country (unlike just Jerusalem in the 70AD revolt). Rome used 9 entire legions to deal with this, approximately 2/3rd of the entire Jewish Judean population was wiped out, etc.

This was the second and much larger example of FAFO.

Is it your evil name which represents your seemingly desire to destroy Christianity, evangelicals and others? It seems you wish harm on them, which, regardless of any spiritual faith, says a lot about who you are.
Even the most atheistic humanist knows the basics of life, which is put so simply, “what goes around comes around.” Others call it Karma, but it’s all the same; wish death and destruction on fellow humans eventually pays itself out. Maybe it just brings chaos and at worse hell on earth.
If the story of the demons and pigs is true or is just an allegory of how Real Roman Legions should be defeated, well the answer is the tools of warfare are not of the flesh in Jesus’ Kingdom.
I wish the best for you.
Ra’as
PS. Glad you looked it up. The story of the Jews and the Land is well worth knowing.
On behalf of the Commonwealth, I apologize to everyone for whatever that was.
