    No replies to this??

I’d sure like to hear from a CC pastor here. Blatant lies, illegal deception, abusive leadership…what does it take for a group of men to stand up together and say “No more”??

Even if ‘your’ church isn’t supporting GFA, your namesake — Calvary Chapel — IS.

But no one has any power to change that…?
    Hmph.

    Disillusioned,

    This is getting frustrating.
There is no single entity called “Calvary Chapel” with central authority.
To keep claiming there is keeps people from dealing with what really exists.

Some CC’s still support GFA…some have dumped them in anger as well.

I hope those that have will speak up loudly.

  3. Disillusioned says:

Sorry, Michael, not trying to frustrate you. I’m speaking to what most of the CC community would call their leadership… Whether or not it exists, many still THINK it does.

May I rephrase? What I’m asking is: why don’t those who call themselves CC and who know the truth about GFA band together to call those promoting it to the innocent people to account? Ok, so there isn’t a ‘body’ that governs CCs…..how about the Holy Spirit? Does He have a seat at the table? Shouldn’t those with some sort of leadership standing (pastors) use their influence to protect the sheep?? Have they even tried??

Disillusioned, I don’t think Michael meant you frustrated him, only that the situation is frustrating. I wonder if others have the same conflict I do? I am supposedly supporting a specific child, so I am reluctant to discontinue contributions until I am 100% sure he won’t be affected.

Even if I am being taken advantage of, I think of Ecclesiastes where it is better not to vow than to vow and not pay; also, vengeance is mine, saith the Lord. It would be so much easier to cease giving if it were to GFA generally (which I would), but at this point, I won’t be continuing after the child is of age or this area (Bridge of Hope) is clearly discredited.

Maybe it is difficult to admit when one has had their trust violated and been duped? At least in this area of life (giving), i.e. admitting it is tantamount to admitting you lack discernment, ability to hear from God, etc.

    Thankful,
The thing that disturbs me is that KP’s deceitfulness toward his staff (and donors, and the bank, ETC!!!) gives me reason to question so many things, like, for example, are these pictures of kids REALLY the exact ones people are sponsoring? There have been reports that the same letters “from the kids” have been used over and over again to different people. We sponsored our own ‘missionaires’ for many years — and now I wonder how much of that has actually gotten to the people whose pictures we had on our wall. From what I now understand, much of our money quite possibly went into the Believer’s Church. Not what we signed up for.
And I know that our offering was unto the Lord, and that GFA will have to answer to Him for what they did and how they misrepresented Him….BUT. We should be wise and not continue to pour money into an obvious sieve that empties into KP’s personal bank account. And pastors who know about this have a responsibility to the people to blow the whistle. It is a lack of respect for the sacrifices people have made to donate to GFA, only to watch them piss it down the sewer.
Jesus called out the Pharisees, and I am doing the same here.

    Michael,
You posted about the CC Pastors Conference at which they had a GFA table, promoting the organization among CCs. To claim NO ONE is responsible is at best weak, and at worst cowardly and a shirking of the duty of a pastor to his people.
If one is a CC pastor and has stopped supporting GFA because of the financial misdeeds, then shouldn’t they be a voice among their brethren…? Just WHO is trying to protect the sheep?? Anyone???

  7. Michael says:

    Disillusioned,

They had reserved that table long ago and have been part of CC for a long time.
It takes forever to get CC guys to look at anything, especially if it has to do with insiders exposed by bloggers.

There has been a great deal of conflict behind the scenes and I know many have dumped GFA and more will.

The other misconception about CC is that they give a rats ass what someone else thinks…they have their own little cliques inside the movement, but if Brodersen came out against GFA a bunch would support them just to spite him.

  8. Disillusioned says:

    Such godly behavior!

And yes, I am aquainted first-hand with both the CC culture and its cliques.
