International Cat Day

Liam
Today is International Cat Day…a religious holiday in my house.
I’m kidding…kind of…
Those of you that know me, know it’s been a rough few years…but whenever I need something to be grateful for the Lord reminds me of all the love I’ve received from my cats.

Trappy
They have got me through a lot of hard days and dark nights.

In my new home I have four felines …Liam, Trappy, Beaujolais, and Jah-Sah…and today my moms ancient cat Gremlin is moving on to the property as well.
She’s 24 in cat years and deceased in human ones…two of her owners have died as well as her beloved sister…but she stubbornly holds on to life.
She looks like she passed a few months ago, but she has a loud purr and a hearty appetite…and a spirit like no other.
She is a reminder to me that no matter how hard life gets, life is still worth living.
She’s been staying at moms old house since I moved and I would traverse the valley twice a day to feed her…but today she’ll have a new home and be honored in her last days as she should be.
So, today I give thanks for my feline friends, both here and departed…I give thanks, indeed.

Our pet family is one of the greatest gifts from God. Love the photos Michael…so sweet!
Thanks, pslady!
Gorgeous fur babies!!!
I’m praying that Gremlin will get along well with her new fur family!
I have been working for the past few two and half years to sit on the bed without attacking my feet. Today he made it for an entire hour! Maybe someday he will be able to sleep in the bedroom with me….
Those are some well-loved, well-cared-for cats. It’s nice to see they all agreed on you as a member of their staff. 🙂
Gosh, those cat photos made my day! What beautiful companions!
I saw a bumper sticker a few days ago:
“I work hard so my cat can have nice things.”
Beautiful cats!!
