It’s a great way to get up! My routine is similar, except that i read a couple chapters in my Bible (after making coffee and feeding the ) cat. Then, I’m ready for my day! Prayer time is during my 30 minute commute to work. But, I may add the Apostle’s Creed in there, too. I memorized it in 5th grade, and never forgot it.

    Linn,

Anything that helps us center on higher realties is really helpful, especially if we turn it in to ritual…and do it before we get distracted by the rest of the day.

I’ve been getting overwhelmed a lot lately and the “ritual of recitation” brings me back to a place I can cope from.

Of course, most of my rituals are centered around Liam…because that’s how cats are… 🙂

    Michael,

As far as cats go, they worship themselves and we are here to worship and serve them. That’s how cats are!

I hold to the tenets of The Apostle’s Creed as non-negotiable parameters up-front and on the table.
    The rest of the stuff?
I pick and choose as I see fit.
For example, I reject the doctrine of PSA (penal substitutionary atonement).
