Just came from reading Brendan Johnston’s story… BRAVO, bravo, bravo

debated sharing this, but i do think it is funny… Was telling my daughter that i’d just dreamed that i was standing in the middle of church ladies room, singing my lungs out when the door flung open and there was the sanctuary – full of worshippers… I kept on belting out the song… My daughter topped that with this… she dreamed that she was on a road trip with one of her babies, stopped for lunch, couldn’t figure out what to do with the baby until she spotted a large bowl of potato salad on the salad bar. She hollowed out the center, planted her baby in the salad and ate her meal. ? Well this family got a chuckle out of it… We probably aren’t safe people to have around, tho ?

Snowed here all morning – wet, soggy stuff
Praying all gain some spiritual traction and peace tomorrow

  7. I think he should have wrestled her and let the best person win. I don’t see the issue here.

  8. Em says:

Supernatural or superficial? That was the question asked by the late pastor, Adrian Rogers in one of his messages broadcast today…
It occurred to me that just might explain our failed leaders today. For some humans there seems to be a need to have power and prestige. The easiest place to fulfill that desire? My guess is that would be within a Christian community if your hypocrisy tolerance is adequate…. Dunnno

  9. Muff Potter says:

I’m with you New Victor, I don’t see the issue either.
Why negate a challenge based solely on plumbing received at birth?
She obviously felt skilled enough to go up against Johnston.
What’s more, she might have even cleaned his clock.

  10. Xenia says:

I think the point is that the young man felt it was improper to be grappling physically with a female who was not his spouse.

Purity. He was guarding his sexual purity, and hers, too, whether she wanted it guarded or not.

He believed maintaining his own sexual innocence was more important that a sporting event.

    God bless him.

  11. Michael says:

There’s no way I would have or should have wrestled a girl in high school. Period.

  12. Em says:

I am puzzled as to how anyone could dismiss either libido or propriety and say co-ed wrestling is no problem… ?
I’m old fashioned, but i admire the lad and feel sorrow for the girl… for all girls who box or wrestle as their chosen sport excluding self defense training….
Use your assets along the lines of God’s design… IMNSHO. ?

  13. Jerod says:

    I can see both sides.

Why forfeit based on her sex? She *might* have cleaned his clock, but more than likely chromosomal and mechanical advantage would have proven too much for her. So what?

Then again, I think it also goes beyond sexual purity to principle of sex roles, maybe.

  14. Em says:

The principle of appropriate sex roles… yes, it boils down to that for me… I realize that is bucking contemporary thought, but perhaps we should buck contemporary thinking? ? ? ?
