Question: how many Jews did Moses lead out of Egypt? Some say 3 million. Is there any physical or historical evidence to support that number? The daily logistics of supporting that many people in an environment where water and food is not readily available would be staggering. Secondly, you’d think there would be evidence of debris, dead bodies, etc. Is there any forensic support for the 3 million number?

Whose “they” ? Ron Wyatt? If so he was exposed as a fraud archeologist as well as his claims..

So with the spotty evidence (at best) what do you believe about the exodus? Is it just a matter of faith? Honestly, I struggle with faith without evidence
I often use the analogy of rock climbing. Faith is the rope and the harness but they are connected to truth.

From a historical standpoint I recognize the dearth of evidence and keep an open mind.
What is very evident is the exodus mythology was crucial to Jesus and Paul… and so from the standpoint of the narrative, I have to take it seriously as well.
A very good article, if you can access it:

Steven,
That is good…
I’m glad Brittney Griner was released.
She wouldn’t have lasted 9 years in the Gulag Archipelago.
Steven
Agreed. Good article
Yes, that was a great article, especially as it was written by a SBC pastor. Wonder how long it will be before he’s pushed out.

Solid proof that there even was an exodus is spotty…it’s more an article of faith…

“I struggle with faith without evidence.”
I think we should struggle- that is the call of faith. If we base our belief system on evidence alone, faith is not necessary.
Mike
True. But faith must be connected to truth. Otherwise, why not believe in the Easter bunny?
