Turns out “Woke” kept
planes in the sky,
judges from being arrested,
hairdressers out of the gulags,
students in colleges,
and young children with cancer
from being deported.
the frightening thing is the devoted circle around this man who kowtow to his every thought and whim, constantly affirm his every ridiculous idea, and echo, repeatedly, their shallow, hollow, pathetic praise for him and what an honor it is to be able to serve him. Lindsay Graham’s pushing for the idea of djt’s becoming pope is at such a level of disconnect from reality that he should be examined to determine his sanity. I’ve said it before and the evidence is overwhelming; the GOP is dead. It simply hasn’t had the decency to lie down.
Filberts,
I quit the Republican Party after Trump was nominated for president the first time. I thought they had lost their minds….still do. I’m also probably the worst Democrat ever.
I must admit that this is in very poor taste.
Next (if it hasn’t happened already), will come a photo of him wearing a royal robe and a crown, which would be less offensive than mocking anyone’s recent death.
When Jan Crouch died, my wife was mocked for remembering her in a Facebook post by someone who we used to go to church with. Even though the deceased is someone you didn’t agree with it is better manners not to say anything if you don’t have something nice to say.
Some FB groups (left wing) that I follow have been tossing around comparisons to the biblical Antichrist, quoting actual scripture. This, for them, is intentional hyperbolic agitprop, but they are borderline touching on something.
In my pedantic eschatological understanding, I always remember that the final Man of Perdition will be wiser, more knowledgeable, than King Solomon. I feel safe in knowing Donald J Trump is definitively not that man. It makes it easier to laugh at these people.
If one gets past the speculation over a final end-times anti-Christ, it becomes obvious that Trump is of the anti-Christ spirit that John said is among us even now.
From the article:
President Trump’s vision of the U.S. economy in a global context, then, is that of a giant department store … run by a guy who doesn’t know how a department store works.”
Nauseating.

bob1,
Simple decency and sense have left us…
This is disgusting!!
Vulgar and blasphemous… No other words for it.
He’s a legend in his own mind, but unfortunately able to act on his twisted schemes.
Megalomaniac: a person obsessed with their own power.
The only group in America where the majority approves of this cretin…white evangelicals.
Make your own application…

…and I’m a registered republican.
For now…

Definitely very odd and incredibly poor taste. I hope that was a drunk Pete Hegseth who got hold of his X account.
Reuben makes a good point. It’s types and shadows, which seem to be getting more bold every day.
Even the devil can make policies we agree with in any administration.

Is it self-parody if he doesn’t know what the word parody means?
We’re all living in Potterville.
Interesting piece by Roger Olson on the evangelical fixation with “one world” governmentism.

The Dispatch helps me stay sane…
Bob1,
Of course Trump is one. Which is why Reagan is spinning in his grave at was has happened to the GOP.
