My apologies again for my absence…just as I was getting better, Liam the Cat got sick.
When Liam isn’t well, my world stops…
He seems to be recovering as well now, but we both could use a “season of refreshing”.
Hopefully we’ll be back next week on a more normal schedule.

One of the elders at my church was interviewed by Matt Whitman on his YouTube channel (Matt Whitman and The Ten Minute Bible Hour).
Thought people here might find it interesting.
Mike Winger from YouTube mentioned this video. He says he’s a member of the church and what is said in the video is a big reason he is part of the church.
On another note:
To those who have Logos: what are some essential resources one would need for serious Bible study? I think I have them all, but I don’t want to miss something that I might benefit from.

I think everyone studies differently, but the primary value of Logos for me is in the commentaries. I use the “passage study” option and open a bunch of commentaries on the passage I’m studying. This inevitibly lead to questions and the digging begins. I have a number of study bibles as well…and I go though the text until I can wear it…meaning it speaks to me and speaks to the people I’m going to teach.

Great swelling words swelling people’s heads until their toupees pop off. I know Mike from years ago and I am glad to see God using him. He encouraged me to go to the EVF church near me, unfortunately it didn’t work out. But Jesus said quite simply:

I visited an Eastern Orthodox Church yesterday. Theotokos, the Mother of God, was the centra theme of the 2.5 hour liturgy. I would have been fine with that, except for how high the veneration actually seemed to go. Far beyond “Pray for us Theotokos”. If you listened closely you picked up that Mary, Jesus’ Mother; was sinless from birth in thought, word and deed; the “ever-virgin”; and after his resurrection, Jesus bodily escorted her to paradise. She never suffered physical death, and was called the first to experience resurrection. Even that I could handle, and then the Father went on about a Mary icon he was just in the presence of in San Francisco, that weeped myrrh continuously. He brought some back, and at the end of the service most people lined up to be annointed with the myrrh.
They served lunch afterward, and I met a friendly couple about my age and we talked over Russian food. The husband was a former evangelical, just 5 years into EO. All his wife wanted to talk about was the weeping icon.

Dobson is one whose obituary I read with great pleasure.
As an aside, that promoter of child abuse, went all in with Trump. He responded to critics by saying Trump is a “baby Christian”. It was so pathetic of an excuse that the Babylon Bee (before it sucked) had this article:
