Speaking of Sports
If we voted on who the Athlete of the Tear would be in 2024, It wouldn’t be Patrick Mahomes or Ronald Acuna Jr or Nikola Jokić.
They’re all great…but there is a bigger star this year.
Caitlin Clark.
Clark has changed the American sporting landscape by making women’s basketball must see tv.
Before Clark ,I hadn’t ever watched a women’s basketball game…nor ever thought about doing so.
Millions watched on tv as she played in the NCAA basketball tournament and she is selling out arenas to watch her play in the WNBA.
Before Clark, the only women’s team to captivate the American sports market was the women’s Olympic soccer team.
Time will tell if the excitement over Clark and others will sustain in the WNBA…but it’s been a fun ride thus far.
Have you watched any of Clark’s games?
Will you continue to follow her progress?
Just an additional thought…
One thing that could ruin women’s basketball…is if some tall male loser decides to identify as a woman to play against women.
Transgender women should not be allowed to compete against women at any level…women have worked too hard for too long to claim their place.
Thank you for speaking up for women’s rights in sports. Men and boys should not be competing against women and girls in sports. I will add, they need to stay out of women’s toilets, locker rooms, dressing rooms, prisons, domestic violence shelters, soroities, hospital wards/rooms).

There shouldn’t even be a debate on the matter.
Caitlin can be the game changer for the WNBA the same way Magic / Bird revolutionized the NBA. We’ll see if it happens, but the excitement is real.
I don’t follow Basketball but I have heard from guys who are nuts about NBA say that she is putting WNBA on the map.
The Rockies are on a streak. I know that much.
If you have Prime, the Indiana Fever play at 6:00pm Central Time.
For a niche sport, the US Olympic women’s hockey team made a splash as well.
But then sports fans don’t really understand hockey (unless you live in a more northern region).
Side note: Atlanta is famous for losing not 1, but 2 NHL franchises. And yes I think they should have kept the old names for the divisions (like Adams, Smythe, etc.).
Just remember that rugby is a sport for hooligans played by gentlemen while football (soccer) is a sport for gentlemen played by hooligans.
