Politics Make Strange Bedfellows…

Charismanias favorite little trollop is the head of President Trump’s new “faith office” leading the way in expunging “anti-Christian bias” in the government.
Paula White returns to the White house after fours years and only the Lord knows how much “work’ to keep her youthful appearance.
One wonders how White has curried such favor with the President…it could have been her keen theological acumen, her devotion to Christ ,or possibly not wearing undergarments when they met.
This I am not sure of…
There are more jokes to be made about the church getting in bed with politics, but I will leave those to the reader.
I digress…
American Christendom gathered ’round Herod’s table to receive the spoils of victory…conservative evangelicals sitting alongside charismatic lunatics they normally hold in contempt, sharing in the glow of political power.
Trump declared that we must “bring religion back”…as if it were hiding in a bunker somewhere in Alabama waiting for Paula to make it safe to come out.
There was little mention of Jesus and I’m sure He’s glad of that.
Nor was there any talk of reform in the church or rooting out the corruption among them.
None of us this has any relationship to the Christian faith or the teachings of Jesus.
Those gathered now have the promise that power will protect them.
The question I have…is anyone going to protect the rest of us?

I may throw up.
I just read that Trump fired the Kennedy Center board and that he is going to run it himself. And, he threatened to take HIV aid away from South Africa because their land distribution system is causing “white genocide.” I tremble to think what he’ll do when the country finds itself in a real crisis. (Think 9/11)
I see that Samaritans Purse has received a special dispensation to continue its relief work. Sadly, the same didn’t hold true for Catholic Relief Services (they’ve had to cut a full 50 pct of their staff) and Global Relief, the Lutheran counterpart.
It’s not what you do but who you know.
