Prayer & Praise
Look upon us, O Lord,
and let all the darkness of our souls
vanish before the beams of thy brightness.
Fill us with holy love,
and open to us the treasures of thy wisdom.
All our desire is known unto thee,
therefore perfect what thou hast begun,
and what thy Spirit has awakened us to ask in prayer.

Please pray for the wife of a fellow student, Fr. Matthew, who is probably at this very moment delivering baby Irene, who will be born severely handicapped. Matushka Anna is undergoing difficult surgery herself today, plus there is concern about baby Irene. Please pray for this dear family, for the health of all concerned and for finances. Fr. Matthew is the rector of a small rural mission parish in Louisiana and has a very small salary and of course, Matushka Anna has had to quit her own job.

Update: Mama and baby survived the birth, glory to God! Baby has some severe birth defects and Mama lost a lot of blood but they are both alive and on the mend, glory to God!

I just saw a photo of baby Irene. She is pink and plump and precious! Missing one eye and part of a nose, but healthy otherwise, so far. Mama Anna went through an incredible surgical ordeal but she’s on the mend.
