Prayer & Praise
We have heard of your wondrous power, the ways in which you make newness, the ways in which you defeat death, the ways in which you give life.
We trust you in the night while we sleep; we rise early in the morn to find you alert, active, engaged.
You dazzle us day and night.
Yet … we notice the place where you are curbed, you are fringed, you are held.
Your newness we do not see … so we wait.
Keep us easy at night in our wait.
Keep us vigilant in day while we wait.
Keep our wait fixed on you, you alone, you and none other … and we will rejoice.
Amen.

“You dazzle us day and night”….. indeed. I was awake in turmoil last night, stressing over some hyper legalistic & critical ‘friends’…. as I prayed, I received such a sense of 1. my own sin 2. the amazing brotherhood of all believers in spite of our differences 3. We’re ALL brutal sinners. 4. We’re saved, thus family deserving of love.
Drifting to sleep, I kept hearing “the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness and self control, against which there is no law”. Woke up thinking of that as well.. The Fruit of the Spirit is love, not perfect doctrine not perfect behavior, etc. Love.
Lord help me separate the difference between church culture and real Spirit led life.
Our friend Robert has prostate cancer. They said it is very slow moving and will not be operating. Please pray for Robert as he is still grieving the loss of his wife and his Parkinsons has worsened.
E, praying
Thank you Jody.
