RE: Paycheck Protection Plan(PPP) -Round 2
RE: Paycheck Protection Plan(PPP) -Round 2
Congress has approved additional funding(Paycheck Protection Plan) through the SBA for those businesses hit hard by the pandemic. The pandemic has affected all businesses both large and small and churches are no exception.  Small churches have been hit particularly hard and many don’t get the help they need because they are often unaware that such relief programs are available. In my conversations with Michael, I thought it would be helpful to point out on the blog that funding is still available if your ministry needs help. Whether your organization is a small church that needs additional funding to make payroll or if you have never received funding, there is help available. Most banks are participating in the paycheck protection plan program.  Finally if the PPP program didn’t have a “forgiveness” provision I would not have posted about it here on the blog.
Below is a direct link to the SBA PPP program for more information.

To date i have received $1800. I gave the first deposit to one of my cash strapped children…
Now I’m waiting for a letter that says, “oops, our mistake – send it back!”
But i will refrain from pontificating on gov’t spending
Thanks for posting this Michael. I know many churches have operated their ministries with a “no debt stewardship” approach since inception, which is wonderful however these are unprecedented times.
scm,
My concern is for the small numbers, small staff churches who really need this to keep serving.
This is one way to keep the doors open.
The new law also expands the payroll retention credit so that it can be received on top of the forgivable PPP loans. These benefits are available to businesses (including farmers and sole proprietorships who do not have employees) and non profit organizations.
