  1. John 20:29 says:

“We suck every last bit of the joy and wonder out of our salvation and the work of God on our behalf, which is truly inexplicable behavior.” true and sad and i know i’m guilty

perhaps those of us who pray for your healing, Michael, are having more success with your electronics ๐Ÿ™‚
now, Lord, if you can spare the modem, can You not spare the man?

does anyone know if Febreeze will kill the smell of whatever crawled into some inaccessible cavity of my car this winter and died? my beautiful Chrysler Pacifica (a gift from God – seriously) smells like an abandoned tool shed

My computer suddenly smells like Bora Bora. How does that happen? Inexplicable. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Michael says:

    John 20:29,

Febreze can kill the smell of almost anything…but a modem can survive it. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Michael says:

    KevinH,

    Indeed… ๐Ÿ™‚
My whole desk area smells like a French house of ill repute going to market, as they say…

  5. Kevin H says:

Your modem must be sending the smell out over the interwebs. ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Xenia says:

We analyze every jot and tittle of the 66 books to come up with precise doctrines and definitions of that which in the end is inexplicable save the love and mercy of God.<<<

  8. Rick from Texas says:

Wow and more wow. Great piece.

If you don’t already have an essential oil kit, let me know and I will send you one with oils. Smells nicer and is much healthier than fabreze.

  9. Michael says:

    Rick,

Thank you, my friend…I now need something to get rid of the smell of the stuff i used to get rid of the smells… ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. Jean says:

I’ve personally been a part of two different types of churches.

I spent over 10 years in a church where if you visited one of the several Sunday school classes or small groups, you could find anything from a Bible book teaching, to Beth Moore, to a charismatic book, to something from John MacArthur, to something on Wesley. There was so much different and conflicting teaching (if you actually paid attention), that I didn’t feel as though the church actually had a unified confession about what it believed apart from the Apostles Creed. It brought me no rest, no comfort, no confidence that I was honoring God with my time and worship.

Now I’m in a simple church where everyone confesses the same thing, devoted to God’s Word, and not chasing after the current new thing. Now I feel comfort, rest and confidence in my faith and a great unity with my fellow parishioners. I know that when I walk in to church every week, I will receive no surprises, no innovations, no new visions, and I will receive shelter from the storms that pervade our culture. I highly recommend it.

    Help me, help me
    Ohhh
    Thank you
    For listening to my prayer”

  12. Rick from Texas says:

Michael, email me your address and I will have it shipped today

  13. Captain Kevin says:

“Inexplicable mercy is a call to worship, not explanation…”

    YES!!!!

  14. Captain Kevin says:

“I know that when I walk in to church every week, I will receive no surprises, no innovations, no new visions, and I will receive shelter from the storms that pervade our culture. I highly recommend it.”

Jean, that sounds truly refreshing…unlike wet cat food or Febreze.

  15. Captain Kevin says:

“We suck every last bit of the joy and wonder out of our salvation and the work of God on our behalf, which is truly inexplicable behavior.” Guilty as charged. Thankful that His kindness leads me to repentance.

  16. Michael says:

    CK,

We’re all guilty at some juncture…and thank God, we can all repent of it. ๐Ÿ™‚

  17. filbertz says:

the reduction of everything to ‘understanding’ renders mystery and faith to mere sight and agreement.

  18. Michael says:

    filbertz,

    Amen and amen…

  19. em... again says:

reading the comments and adding my amen, if i may…
now i’m pondering the extent to which understanding can cancel faith… i am in agreement with filbertz’ #17… but we are told to get wisdom and understanding, so…

  20. Descended says:

I think God wanted you writing today, Michael. ๐Ÿ™‚

Still should probably get a new modem. It’s just a matter of time.

  21. Michael says:

    Descended,

I’ll do that when there’s room in the budget.
Right now there’s not even a need for a budget, let alone any room in one…
God will keep it going just like He got it running this morning…until I can replace it.

  22. Descended says:

    I feel ya, God bless.

  23. Alex says:

    Amen! That’s where I’m at.

    Good stuff.

  24. em... again says:

Michael, not trying to usurp the authority and power of our God, but should the modem go out, email me with your choice of a replacement and i’ll find room for it in my budget – stat

i don’t think we realize how many there are right now in the family of God with “no need for a budget”

  25. Michael says:

    Em,

Thank you for your kindness…it’s still running like a top. ๐Ÿ™‚

  26. John 20:29 says:

well, i don’t know what makes a modem go, but either you’ve proved that there are no acids or electrolytes in Febreeze or we’re looking at the hand of God upon your work here

let’s go with the latter and praise God (with some fear and trembling, perhaps?)

  27. Michael says:

    John 20:29,

I think it’s the hand of God…and I need to believe that now. -)

  28. AA says:

    God works in consumer electronics!

  29. JD says:

Maybe the stuff acts like an insulating varnish, helping all those circuits connect without shorting out each other, all while a sweet aroma reaching up to heaven is produced.
    Job well done!
