TGIF
Due to the extreme heat outside and the fact that she has a raging eye infection, I’ve shut her in.
She’s showing her age a bit and I want to keep her safe.
This is her third week in quarantine, which is a long time in cat years…especially for a freedom loving feline.
She wasn’t very happy about this turn of events for about a week…then decided to make the most of it.
Missy had felt somewhat estranged from me…too many other cats roaming about, not enough attention from Dad.
Now, inside the house, she has me all to herself.
Now, we’re once again inseparable.
We really do enjoy each others company.
We’ve had time to reacquaint and she knows she’s being cared for even if she can’t go outside for a while.
She’s remembered that she loves being with me…and vice versa…
She could have taken on the situation differently.
She could have decided to stay angry and distant, raging against the forces that took her freedom.
She could have decided to ignore me except when demanding sustenance.
She could have decided to make things difficult until she got her way.
We’ve all been on lockdown for the last few months to one degree or another.
It’s been hard.
Really hard.
It’s also been an opportunity.
It’s been an opportunity to reconnect with the Father and remember Him and the joy of our salvation.
It’s been an opportunity to be reminded that everything we have is from Him and through Him and that He is our provision and He is sufficient.
It’s been an opportunity to take the joy and peace of renewed relationship out to a shattered world that they might know Him too.
It has been, for the most part, a wasted opportunity.
As for me and my cats, we will serve the Lord…
