Liam and conquered mousies
I didn’t get much sleep last night.
It was one of those nights when the cares of this world wake you up and demand attention you’re too tired to give them.
I finally fell asleep, only to be awakened by a sharp pain above my eye and the weight of something resting on my head.
Liam had tried rousing me by conventional means earlier…perhaps a picture frame landing on my head would work.
It only worked well enough for me to put the picture on my nightstand, check for bleeding, and go back to sleep.
That’s when the rest of the articles on my nightstand hit the floor.
Laptop, iPad, glasses…boom.
Ok, Liam…I’m awake now.
I should have been angry…maybe very angry.
I wasn’t.
I understood that Daylight Savings Time has been a bad time for both of us.
I don’t let Liam out when it’s dark and now it’s dark all the time.
He used to be able to go out much earlier and stay out much later…now he’s just confused.
Our sleeping and eating schedules are all messed up and we’re both acting out in our own ways.
I cleaned everything up, gave him a snack, and returned to slumber as best as I could.
All was forgiven and we moved on to the morning.
Thinking about all this later the main reason I didn’t get very upset about all my expensive toys hitting the floor is because I love Liam.
Love covers a multitude of sins.
I love my buddy, so I try to understand where he’s coming from.
I love my friend and understand that we have have bad days and bad times when we act out when we should not.
I love my cat and I know when I’m confused, tired, and hungry…I’m not much fun to be around, either.
Thinking about it some more…I understood that I don’t love many people like I love my cat.
When people upset me I don’t try to understand where they’re coming from, I don’t make reasonable excuses for their behavior, nor do I want to forgive, forget, and move on.
I want them to move on, for sure…
Maybe if I treated people like I treat my cat, my part of the world would be a better part of the world.
Maybe that’s why Jesus said to love our enemies.
Maybe.
Maybe, the Lord inspired Liam to trash the place so I can practice.
Love covers.
Maybe…
Make your own application…
Yes, maybe…
Good stuff, Michael.
Thanks, CK!
There’s a new documentary on Netflix about cats. I watched half of it before going to bed last night (also adjusting to daylights savings time). It looks well done so far.
Love the picture of Liam – he looks Luke such a big “tough guy” with his subdued mouse!
Terry,
I don’t have Netflix, but I’ll try to find it elsewhere.
BoC,
Liam says thanks!
Thank you for sharing Michael, it hit home for me… You continue bringing truth to light.
I love that, I need that…
Praying you both will have a good nights rest and recover to some extent 🙃💕
Elena,
Always glad to see you here…always a blessing if I helped my friend in any way…
Good application Michael…
Love the Liam picture…pets are the best!
