While the posts were missing I saw a news story about a WordPress plugin vulnerability affecting many sites that allowed hackers to remove website content. I wondered if that had happened.
But could have been anything – as a not-so-careful developer, I’ve had plenty of data emergencies.

The hosting company said a big part of the problem is the size of the database…we’ve been around a long time and it’s a big site.
Trying to put the backend on a diet…
