Calvin’s Corner by Michael · October 4, 2016 Phil and I discuss a new survey on evangelical belief, “The State of Theology”… and a sorry state it’s in, indeed. Download the mp3 Fallback content goes here. Share
Timely episode especially after reading up on John Shelby Spong. It’s hard for me to wrap my mind around the numbers you were sharing on crucial tenets of the faith. For those who actively believe wrongly the danger is they are going to create false hope for people who need the truth. Instead they’re helping the enemy see his work done.
These aberrant beliefs are poison. This hits too close to home but it has solidified things I’m wrestling with.
I hear and read about discipling new believers which is crucial especially because of the backgrounds they have come out of. I would have hoped this would eliminate such ignorance but then you guys mention those with higher education buying into these lies.
Great show but the audio was poor. Phil broke up a lot and some of what Michael shared seemed to have been skipped. Maybe it was an issue on my end?? Thanks for an illuminating yet disturbing half hour.
We were having connection issues…my apologies.
I heartily recommend reading the survey…
When growing the numbers of a church is a greater concern than growing the believers already there it seems nothing good can result. The survey is interesting in noting that those who attend church once or twice monthly and many with higher education find themselves in the same boat albeit for different reasons. Our next president won’t be able to address this. Sarcasm intended.
Sorry about the audio…..we had some serious difficulties with the Internet today.
