Chip Lusko Has Passed

Back in May of 2021 I was preparing for open heart surgery the next month.

In previous medical crises, I was used to getting a lot of prayerful support here online.

The years of division had pretty much eroded that number down to a few…most no longer cared if I made it through or not…I was on the wrong side of some issue and no longer worthy.

It all worked out though…in part because I received the prayers of an enemy.

Mike, I know we are far from friends.
You have been brutal.
But we are brothers in Christ.
So, a word of encouragement.
I went through a heart attack and triple bypass 10 years ago in Miami.
The Lord has been gracious and I am better than ever.
Praying you recover for a long life.
Chip

Chip Lusko died yesterday after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

My condolences go out to his family, friends, and all those who loved him.

Before he left, in 2021 he showed me what it looked like to love and pray for one’s enemies.

We weren’t friends…the battles had indeed been brutal.

He didn’t have to say anything to me,especially publicly as he did here.

He did it anyway and he did it because despite the wars,he was a Christian.

Godspeed Chip…and thank you.

It mattered.

    Michael,

That is the Chip Lusko that I knew and came to love. I am heartened by this post.

    Alan,

He did other things I know of (that I can’t speak of here) that indicated he was a man of real faith.

He was the adversary I feared most when the battles were hot…he towered above the rest in terms of intelligence and strategy.

One act of kindness made me forget where my scars came from.

He left you with a precious gift, Michael.

    Treasure and use it.

I am so blessed and encouraged by this posting. That is how we are to love. My exhusband had two strokes and fell. He has been in a coma for three weeks. He was an abusive husband and did the unspeakable. We have adult children who are worried about him and are looking to me to see CHRIST. I pray for him with them and alone. He is my brother in Christ. The pain and suffering my savior took covers every offense he inflicted on us. I pray and we pray for him and my children tell me they see Christ in me!!! PRAISE GOD, my ABBA
