I posted this here as well as on the other PP blog and on The City.

  2. Michael says:

    How?

    How did you get access?

  3. BrianD says:

I posted this earlier this afternoon on the .com….copied it over to my church’s The City site, and copied it over here from The City.

I am in the process of reposting the thread articles from Sunday on over here; the site may be down but the RSS feed is not…

  4. BrianD says:

When I posted it on the .com, everything was fine.

  5. Michael says:

You are rebuilding with the RSS feed?

  6. BrianD says:

I can’t access the comments, just the main articles.

  7. BrianD says:

I’m checking now to see how far back the RSS feeds go.

  8. dusty says:

    Brian, you are amazing.

  9. Michael says:

This is all we need…this is awesome!

  10. BrianD says:

If you subscribe to a blog feed, the articles should remain available in your reader even if the blog ceases publication, as long as you remain subscribed to the feed.

  11. BrianD says:

This is going back farther than I expected…I’m back to May 2006 and over 2,180 articles…

  12. BrianD says:

Here’s how far back: May 2006, 2,293 articles.

So it doesn’t have access to everything.

You’ll need an Army of volunteers (who subscribed to RSS feeds) to get all this stuff.

  13. Erunner says:

BrianD, You’re amazing in how you go about doing what you do without any fanfare. Thanks.

  14. Michael says:

Jake thinks we can rescue the main database…just having what we have now is great and we’ll use this until we redesign the other.

What an incredible job you did!

  15. Dusty says:

Brian, you said, “volunteers (who subscribed to RSS feeds”

does that mean if we had not already been a subscriber we won’t be able to get there to help?

  16. BrianD says:

I’m not sure if you could or not, Dusty.

Try posting this in your RSS reader: https://phoenixpreacher.com/?feed=rss2

If you have Google Reader, click on Add a Subscription in the upper left hand corner.

  17. Dusty says:

I got it…it came up! ok…so how do I help?

  18. BrianD says:

    How many articles came up?

As far as helping…hold tight, wait to see if Michael needs any help.

  19. Dusty says:

    it’s still loading…700 – Jan 08…still loading…

  20. Dusty says:

    1400 – December 07….still loading.

  21. BrianD says:

    Having fun yet? 😉

  22. Dusty says:

2293 ….wow….that is a long way back…good job Brian, good job.

  23. BrianD says:

    Thanks, Dusty.

It took awhile to go through all of those posts, didn’t it? I’m glad that my solution worked…but hopefully Jake will be able to get the entire old database up.

  24. Dusty says:

it did take a while…..even on ‘list’ view….it was kind of cool though to read some of the titles…and say “oh, I remember that one’ ‘that one was fun’…..

  25. BrianD says:

All I could think was, ‘this is a week’s vacation to restore everything this way’ 🙂

  26. Dusty says:

    March 19, 2019…”We’re Back” ….the site had been hacked…

  27. Jaime Tiberon Kirkessa says:

On C Michael Patton, on how to know if you should be a minister:

Wow! How about THE WILL OF GOD?!?! What Jesus says?
27 “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”

    4. “Are doors being opened through your experience? This has to do with financial doors and circumstances that make the path clearer.”
Is this how it is in YOUR respective worlds?
Myself, and most I know, have opposition like HELL at some point (usually the early stages) in starting the ministry. “Every Word of God is tested”

Regarding Glenn Beck, here’s a pretty good response:

    http://biblebeltblogger.com/index.php/religion/glenn-beck-run-from-churches-that-tout-social-justice

Summary: if Beck follows his own advice he’ll be looking for a new church.

  29. MDSF says:

we’ve just replaced Bill Hybels and Rick Warren with Tim Keller and Mark Driscoll

I’ve been wondering if I was the only one who thought this.

  30. Martin Luther's Disciple says:

Here is a link to add – since there seems to be so little controversy swirling around the .net site.

Will Rick Warren preach about Jesus and the Resurrection on Easter Sunday or will it be about himself and Saddleback Church?

I might as well stir things up a bit. 😉

  31. MDSF says:

    MLD —

Sorry, but there’s nothing controversial about an ODM taking a cheap shot at a megapastor.
Wake me when you’ve got a “man bites dog” story rather than a “dog bites man” story.

  32. Martin Luther's Disciple says:

    MDSF,
“Wake me when you’ve got a “man bites dog” story rather than a “dog bites man” story.”

You shouldn’t be asleep at times like this.

Thanks for taking the high road here.
